I'm Back

I know, it's been a whole week since I blogged, WOW for me. We had a good trip to the mountains with Glenn's family and we got back on Wednesday night. I was gone almost all day yesterday so I'm just getting around to updating. I have tons of pictures but will only put the highlights on here. We did so much in a very short time, but had a blast. Emily loved everything from the pumpkin patch, cabbage patch (baby hospital), Helen (when she was awake), feeding the ducks (in 30 degree wind chills), and running up and down the stairs in the cabin. Today is Fall Festival and she's very excited about being a cowgirl. We asked her last night if I could be a cow girl too, and she said, "No, mommy too big!". How cute!!! I hope you have all had a great week in this COLD weather. I hope to get back exercising soon, but my body will have to adjust to the frigid cold. I went to the Internal Medicine Dr. yesterday and will know more next week, but I'm having a MRA on Saturday to rule out an anyerusm first. I'm sure it's good, just have to do this first. Hope you have a great day today and weekend.

It's only a Cold

Well I carried Emily back to Dr. Jason this morning because she's still been running 100 temp. She's been doing this on and off for over 3 weeks. I wanted him to check her out before we leave for the mountains in the morning, and he just laughed when he came in the room and saw us again! He looked her over and said she looked great, ears and throat were perfect. So since she has the urinary reflux he thought we'd better do a urine check to make sure it was an infection (UTI). That came back perfect so he decided to do blood just to make sure she didn't have some other infection that we've been missing. Well you know a 2 year old doesn't like to have their finger stuck (who does) so we had to cry for over 5 minutes about that (my little drama queen). Well he came back in and said her blood was clear, and that it showed it was viral (a COLD) pretty much. All that for an old cold!!! When I don't take her she's sick for real, and when I do take her she's really not that sick!!! Go figure, on a cold rainy Friday at that.

Anyway, I'm not sure when I'll be back blogging, but I hope you all have a great weekend. We're hoping that the leaves will be pretty up there. Hopefully it won't be too cold either. I'd better go, I've got laundry, and packing to do...OH yeah and to work on stitching a turkey for a thanksgiving jumper I'm doing for Emma Beck (aka Emily). We've been calling her that lately as a little nick name. Have a great week.

Emily's 1st Haircut

I took Emily to get her hair cut this morning and she did very well. She didn't really need it, but she's had this little "tail" of hair that was getting long and the rest wasn't keeping up with it. Everyone has said that if I cut it off then the rest will grow back fuller, so we'll see. She is having a MUCH better day so far than yesterday. Glenn had a big talk with her last night (after a spanking of course and sit in time-out) and told her she better be good today for mommy.

Hope you're all having a great Wednesday. She's got another cold (to figure), so I'm back to wiping noses!!! She also has a little rash that looks like ring-worm, but now I'm thinking it might just be eczema. Hopefully it will all clear up soon, but I'm learning that life with a 2 year old is NEVER dull and it's not going to get any better anytime soon, so I should just embrace it and enjoy it because life is SO short!!!

Ever had a bad day?

Well this has been probably one of the hardest days I've had as a stay-at-home mom...and it isn't over yet. As I begin to type this post I hear my beautiful little 2 year old waking up from a nap that she should still be asleep. I over slept this morning, and woke up with eyes that wouldn't open...ever have that happen. I walked last night for 40 minutes and probably over did it...but I've been dragging all day. With that in mind, I did go to Jesus first thing and confess that I needed His almight POWER to make it...well HE has for sure been testing me today. Emily has been a true 2 year old today. She fussed through breakfast, wanted to eat cookies, and to all this I say "NO". She screams and pitches a fit for that....to which I tried to ignore. Well after breakfast as I was trying to brush my teeth (something I hope for every day after breakfast), I turn around with mouthwash rinsing in my mouth to see what my sweet darling girl was up to and I find her with the nail polish remover bottle EMPTY on the floor and a face like she couldn't get her breath. I immediately RUN to get the phone for poison control and all the while she's just bouncing along like nothing happened. Well after an upseting ordeal, she's fine. I do not think that she swallowed any, I was just smelling it on her clothes (not her mouth). So with that we start "re-baby" proofing the house.

All day so far she has been throwing temper tantrums like you wouldn't believe. I absolutely feel like the worse mother today, and have actually thought about going back to work. At one point I just literally cried out to God for help (Emily just looked at me like I was crazy). God is the only one who can rescue us and he certainly has today (even though I'm sure my "fight" isn't over for the day). I'm reminded of Matthew 6 now, and love this verse God just pointed out to me..."Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." TOO COOL, Jesus sure was right on this....each day does have enough trouble of it's own.

So sorry to vent, but I just had to get this out, and ask for prayers from you mom's who totally understand where I'm at. If any of you have any advice or words I'd greatly appreciate them. I need to pull out my book "The Strong Willed Child" of Dr. Dobson's and start reading on it!!!

Hope you all have a great night.

Nativity Dress

I finished Emily's first Christmas dress yesterday. It has the nativity stitched across the front. We've had a fun peaceful weekend. It sure was cold this morning when we got up to go to church. They say it's going to be down in the low 40's tonight. I'm not too thrilled about that, I like it 60-80 degrees myself. When I walked yesterday it was 65, and that was plenty cold for me. Oh well I guess I better get ready for a cold winter. Emily with her new coat on ready for the COLD!!!

We take Emily to the ENT in the morning for her ears. I pray she's not infected and that he can help her. She's been a little congested with this weather change and all so I'm sure she's got fluid on them. Anyway, hope you all had a great weekend, and we will be going to the GA mountains on Saturday so I'm excited!!! Glenn's parents have a time-share in Big Canoe and we will be staying with all the family Saturday through Wednesday. You know me I'm always glad to travel and get away for a while. Have a great Monday tomorrow!!!

Cool Morning, Hot Day

I know what a title huh? It was one of those days though, you get up and it's 54 outside so you dress in long sleves and put a sweater on (or at least I do because I was freezing), and then by lunch it's in the 80's and you're sweating like crazy.

We had to go to Mabel White this morning for child-care, and I say had to, because it was a struggle this morning for me at least. I've not been feeling to well lately so going to watch 12 2-4 year olds wasn't exactly what I wanted to do today. Emily had fun however and enjoyed seeing other kids. I have a few minutes to myself but really can hardly keep my eyes open. I dare not take a nap though!!! I'm about to drink some coffee (something I'm NOT suppose to have), but I'm going to do it anyway.

Please pray for Emily and myself. She goes to an ENT on Monday about her ears. She'll probably be getting tubes in soon. I hate for her to go the whole winter on antibiotics. For myself, pray this dizzy stuff will end! I can't concentrate on anything and have been really weak. I have dropped Emily a few times lately because my muscles just can't handle it. It's all really starting to scare me...I feel SO tired and like I mentioned earlier I can hardle keep my eyes open to type this post!

I hope you all have a great weekend. I should be finished with Emily's first Christmas dress soon. It's taken me a little longer on this one but it'll get finished soon. I'm stitching the nativity across the front of a royal blue jumper...Hope it turns out.

The Weekend

We had good time this weekend seeing family that we don't get to see very often. Although it wasn't for a "good" situation, but nevertheless we still enjoyed catching up. Glenn's sister came down from Illinois with all 3 kids so Emily was in entertainment heaven. The 3 girls stayed here yesterday with a sitter while we were at the funeral. We went non-stop yesterday, and poor Emily was so exhausted she fell asleep at 5:30, but we woke her up at 6:30 for fear she wouldn't sleep last night. Well either that nap got her energized or either she was too exhausted to go to sleep because we listened to her on the monitor for over an hour last night. She finally went to sleep about 10:15. She's just now waking up so at least she slept a little later.

I hope you all have a great week!!!

Glenn's grandmother, "Ma Ma" passed away last Friday evening and we have the funeral here today. Her name is Mary Walker and if your from Macon may have heard of her from Mabel White as she use to be over the nursery there a while ago. She was 92 and lived a wonderful life. We know where she is today, celebrating with Jesus in heaven, so though we will miss her we smile knowing where she is! The funeral is at 2:00 at Macon Memorial.

We have been enjoying time with family over the weekend, and Glenn's sister got to come from Illinois with all 3 kids. Emily has had the most fun with them. I have some cute pictures but will put them up later this week. Be in prayer for everyone in their family today, and during the funeral.

Wild past 12 hours

Well, I'll try not to make this blog too long, BUT the past 12 hours have been CRAZY. I woke up at 2:30 am last night extremely dizzy. The room was spinning and I was going crazy. The dizziness wouldn't stop with nothing, and I have Meiner's disease, like vertigo, so I assumed it was just that. Well all the "spinning" led to nausea etc. etc. Then I started having trouble breathing, talking, and my arms went numb and were tingling really bad. Glenn said I was panicking, but even when i tried to calm down it continued...so he called 911. We've never had to call 911 so I was freaking out. The paramedics came and assessed me...my vitals were good after I took my rescue inhaler, but they still took me to the ER to make sure it wasn't the heart.

I'm sure by now everyone reading this is thinking, good grief wasn't she just at the hospital (in May). I know I was mad but scared so we went on. To make this story even shorter than it could be, we went to the Medical Center which wasn't crowded at all so we got right in. After blood and some testing, I was dehydrated, my potassium is low, and blood pressure is low when standing, sitting and lying down. So they pumped in fluids and gave me an Antivert (anti-dizzy pill) and we got home by 7:00am. A very scary evening for sure!!! THANK the LORD, for Jimmy and Jenni Carter who came over to stay with Emily for us. We really didn't know what to do! I thought I was about to go unconscious, and Glenn called and they were here right after the ambulance got here. They said they both slept the whole time so I don't feel so bad. OH BY THE WAY, my heart is fine, it wasn't the heart.

Anyway, still dizzy, but Glenn went back to work for the rest of the day after lunch and I just put Emily down for a nap. Just thought I'd fill you all in on our past 12 hours. Pray I get this mess cleared up. It's all things I knew I had just didn't know it was this bad. If any of you know of any good, Internal Medicine doctors here in Macon please pass their names on. I've got to get in with someone and get it calmed down. Hope you all have a great weekend! We hope to go to the fair on Saturday??? We'll see.

Fun Night

We had some fun last night, since Emily is feeling some better Glenn and she went outside to play while I went walking. It was a much needed break for me and some much needed time to exercise for her. She got SO sweaty running around in the yard. Glenn said that he turned around and she was heading to the back yard, so he went chasing her and never caught her she ran all the way around the house not stopping once. When we came in we gave her some ice cream (frozen yogurt) and banana. These are a few pictures of her eating it, with her pony tail and sweaty hair. Also of her after her bath and hair washing...it was nasty. Hope you all have a great day. It's a rainy one here, a much need thing.

Story-time at the Library

We went to story time at the library this morning and had lots of fun. Cristy and Merritt met us and came over to play and eat lunch afterward. Both girls were sleepy and ready for naps, so next time we'll do "playtime" early in the morning!
Emily is doing a little better, still congested and has a bad cough. Last night we put a humidifier in her room and we didn't hear her cough one time!!! The night before she was up all night coughing. I pray this stuff will clear up soon, I'm getting kind of tired of wiping that snotty nose! I know that this will be going on for a LONG time, but I'd like a break for a few days at least. I hope you're all having a great week so far. I'm starting on Emily a Christmas dress, and I have messed it up somewhat...we'll see if I can recover it and if you can see my mistakes in the end. It's royal blue and I'm planning on stitching the Nativity across the front. If you have any cute nativity patterns or even pictures please send them to me...I'm still looking for the right one. My e-mail is jennifermawalker@yahoo.com if you want to send it that way.

Fun Friday-Sunday

We have had an interesting past couple of days. Emily still had diarrhea on Friday pretty fierce, and I mean fierce. We did a lot of washing and cleaning all over the house Friday night. With all that I was still pretty worried about her on Saturday went it hadn't let up. We went and bought some over the counter medicine the pharmacists recommended, Culturelle G-G. Well I gave it to her at noon, and the diarrhea has stopped. No more since yesterday morning, PRAISE THE LORD. I did however have Glenn stay at home with her this morning while I went to Sunday school and church. Her fever is practically gone so that is another praise. I guess this new antibiotic is doing the trick.Friday night we had an outdoor "bluegrass" concert with our instruments. Emily didn't want to play her dulcimer, stead she found a gourd to shake. None of the neighborhood dogs started howling so I guess we didn't sound that bad. If my daddy had been here with all his instruments they probably would have.Emily also decided that her bugs and puppy needed to go to time-out. It was so cute!!! She also demanded that daddy put a band-aid on her bottom. Must've been because it was hurting with all the stomach problems. Kids are so funny.
I hope you all have a great week, and thanks for your prayers for Emily. She's not well yet, but the signs and symptoms are looking better. Keep praying the sinuses clear up fast.

Emily Update

Ok, my internet just went off so let me type this AGAIN...

I had to take Emily back to the Dr. this morning as she's still running fever and her sinuses are alot worse. Dr. Jason said that her ear looks actually worse and that she probably has a sinus infection on top of it all. He's switching her antibiotic and gave a decongestant for her to take. I pray this kicks it. I feel so bad for her as she doesn't feel good, but my comfort and sympathy is running low. I almost went crazy last night after I had been wiping noses and bottoms all day, along with washing clothes all day. The medicine has given her bad diarrhea so that's NOT cool either. We've been pumping her with yogurt and Pedialyte (which she won't drink much of).

I pray that when I blog again I'll have a much better report. Hope you all have a great weekend. Remember my brother tomorrow as their band has a big contest. I know he's stressed and ready for it to be over. I hope they get all 1's. Here's a picture of their "Big Blue" band, in Vicksburg, MS.

Cold Day

WOW, can you all believe how cold it was this morning...our thermometer read 48 degrees. I don't know if I'm ready for that kind of cold, to me in the 60's was good enough. Wind and cold definitely do not help sickly kids with ear infections and allergies. Emily is still running 100 temp. and has the worse runny nose ever. Maybe it's going to break up soon, I hope. We didn't get to go to church this morning, because of the fever and also because Emily threw up her breakfast as soon as I fed it to her. She started coughing (drainage), and gagged, and up it all came. It's not a virus just all that drainage. It's usually worse in the morning, so she's done fine now.
She tried on her new dress yesterday and absolutely went wild. I really mean it, because she literally started running all over the house. She was sweating so I had to make her take if off, then she wildly continued to run all over the house with no pants on for the next 2 hours. WHOO, must've been the Claritin I gave her. This morning we had a little music time and she wanted to play her dulcimer. She had to still on mommy's stool (the one I have to use), and use the tuner (she sees us tune ours all the time). It's too cute watching her strum it. Maybe one day she'll become a very good dulcimer player.
I hope you all have a safe fun weekend. Stay well, and stay warm.

Here We go Again

Well guess what, Emily has an ear infection. She woke up Sunday morning with a fever, and I didn't take her until today. She's had the crud everyone has had, allergies/cold thing and it led to an ear infection. I sure hope this isn't the start of something, because if it is she will need to get tubes put in. She is waking up from her nap...not but a little over an hour. I guess she doesn't feel good so she can't sleep...no fun for me huh.

Anyway, I just finished her new fall dress and just had to put pictures of it on here. I don't have pictures of her wearing it yet but will get those soon. I hope you like it. It's my favorite so far. I'd better go, I hear a whining child calling me.
