Prayers for a sweet little girl!

The painting above I did for a friend of mine I went to school with, whose little girl Layla was diagnosed with an enlarged heart a couple of weeks ago. She's still in children's ICU, in Arkansas, but she is able to get up and walk around...so it's not like ICU you're probably thinking. Her mom messaged me about making a sign to go on her hospital room since they are expecting to be in the hospital a while. I of course jumped right on it. She just got it today and is so excited! Please keep her in your prayers. Her mom, my friend, is Many Tolar. As of yesterday the test show no improvement and she has been put on the heart transplant list. They are very hopeful that God will heal her heart, and if not she'll get a new one. PLEASE pray this week that all the medicines she's on will improve the function of her heart!!!!
These are just a couple of pictures I took the other day while letting the kids finger paint with chocolate pudding. They were hesitant at first, but then got into it. Sorry I've not been posting much lately, I will do a better job I promise. I've been suffering from a LOT of headaches lately and it's gotten me down, but the good news is I had an MRI last Friday and they just called that everything is fine. No brain tumors, aneurysms, AVM's, or swelling. NOW I just have to figure out how to control the headaches. I suffer from migraines no doubt, and I do have triggers to them. I also have occipital neuralgia, which comes from my fall in Alaska when I broke my leg. I had whip lash but no one ever told me, and so now I have scar tissue in the neck from that fall, and I wasn't treated for it. I also think that I'm having some low blood sugar levels which if you eat too fast to bring it up, can cause a spike in sugar levels too fast and trigger a headache! ALL of this is ALOT to take in, but just figuring it all out will help.

New Blog!!!

I have created a new blog only for my own little "Art business". I hope you'll check it out, and pass it along. It is NOT a secure sight so it is viewable to anyone. I will update new projects periodically through that blog. God has definitely blessed us with this opportunity and I have still been getting orders almost every other day. I really excites me, because God gave me this talent called "art" as a child, and I LOVE doing it. I'm just SO thankful that I'm able to spread the love to others now.

VBS is on it's WAY!!!!

Yes, only a former children's minister would be talking about VBS in January!!! But we met some kids from our church down in Warner Robins at the Aviation museum to get some pictures to use during promotion for VBS. This year's theme is "Amazing Wonders Aviation"....so it was perfect to go down to the museum and make pictures around the airplanes. I have edited and added the VBS logo's to some of the pictures. You can download it for free off Lifeway.com. But I got some great ones, and I'm sure that the others who were making pictures did too!

Joseph didn't know what to think about the goggles and belts!

Sunday night we had our children's choir kick-off party...Candy Land style. Can you tell someone likes Pinterest? Our children's minister is constantly getting cute ideas off pinterest and we just couldn't wait to find something to celebrate.

The kids had a blast playing all the games, and of course their favorite activity of the night...eating CANDY! I'm just glad I wasn't the one keeping nursery that night.

Here are a few other photos of what we've been up to this week. Joseph managed to dis-essemble w hole box of Q-tips one day while I was brushing my teeth...yes it happened that fast.

Then Johnny Cash, and Dolly Parton gave us a few concerts one evening. FUN week!!!!

Be Still And Know that I AM GOD!!!!

I do apologize for not blogging this week. We got back to GA Sunday night, exhausted and we cranked up homeschooling early Monday morning, well not exactly early. And by Friday we had just gotten in to a routine of something. But we did stay an extra day in MS, and as I look back, and I can honestly say that I know it was for the best, and for a reason. I got to take all these beautiful photos that Saturday afternoon, while Glenn & Emily went fishing one last time for this trip. The verse on my home page, Psalm 46:10, "Be still and know that I am God..." sticks out in my head as I upload these photos.

It is SO funny how we, in our petty little minds, just know exactly what we need, or what we WANT, and then God sometimes just slaps us and says, "Hey remember I AM GOD...not you". Oh how little we really know. I mean we can have all the degrees, and be the best at our jobs, and even have a full life and retire happy in all we've accomplished, but truly, we really don't know anything in comparison of God's wisdom and knowledge. I think this is something I needed to be reminded of this week, and us all realistically. Just look at all these photos, and take a moment to bask in God's beauty...and know the HE is GOD, and we are NOT.

Country Fun!

We've thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in MS, for over 2 weeks. We were suppose to head back to GA today, Saturday, so we went last night for what we thought was our last venture to the woods. We saw the prettiest sky and sunset. Emily enjoyed walking through the puddles...and Glenn was glad to get down from the tree as fast as he could.

We saw TONS of ducks, and I told Glenn he should take up duck hunting in the winter time instead of deer hunting.

But all good things do have to come to an end though. Emily was not happy that we were leaving and she AND Glenn both persuaded me to find a substitute for Sunday school, so we have stayed an extra day. But we will be heading back tomorrow, Sunday. Poor Emily is so sad to leave, but we've had a blast.

After Christmas Fun...Happy New Year

We got to spend New Year's Eve with Larry & Becky. We had alot of fun especially going fishing. We caught 8 catfish in all between all of us. Emily really enjoyed it...and we really enjoyed eating them Sunday at lunch.

The big New Year's eve event was when Emily fell and busted her lip on the concrete. When she fell she had blood coming out of her nose, and all in her mouth. Her nose appears fine now, and her lip was cut on the upper inside and bruised on the lower inside. No teeth were missing, which is a miracle considering how she landed. Also it's a miracle that she didn't crack her skull or break her nose. She landed face down on the concrete and didn't even need stitches, well she would've needed them but they said they don't do them on the inside. She kept ice on it for an hour and half, and I think it helped tremendously.

This hasn't stopped her from riding her new bike though...

OR playing on the playground at the park.
