Trip to MS for the FAIR!!!!!

 We arrived in MS Saturday evening a week before the Fair begins!!!  Glenn likes to come the whole week before so he can get in on getting everything ready!!!  I will say that the before planning and putting up is MORE fun than taking it all down. We've just been hanging out at the house so far.

 Sunday evening after supper we sat on the porch and watched it rained.  After the rain passed we decided to go pick some okra, since it was getting pretty big.  When we walked out in the yard, everyone had already gone ahead of me...I'm guessing they didn't look in the sky because by the time I started out I saw the most beautiful rainbow ever!!!  At first it didn't look like much but over the next 10 minutes it developed into what you see below.  And it was a double one!!!  You can see it somewhat in the picture.  I just stood there in amazement at God's beauty, and then went, "HEY I don't have my camera..."  SO I ran back to the house grabbed it and was able to get these pictures before it disappeared.

 We all enjoyed looking at this rainbow, but I will say I have a thing for rainbows.  You don't see them very often!  I'm always the one after a rain storm and the sun comes out, I go searching.  We honestly didn't expect to see one this beautiful, BUT God always brings the unexpected when you're NOT expecting it!  After ALL the trouble's we've had since June 28th, this rainbow did more for me than just make a pretty picture.  It reminded me that in ALL circumstances God is ALWAYS with us.  After all testing and trials, God brought this beautiful rainbow to remind me of SO much more!!!  Hope you enjoy these pictures.

Photo Shoot....Long over due!

 I'm not sure why, but for the past 3 months I've just not made many pictures of the kids....I mean REAL photos.  I have been meaning to get Joseph's 2 year pictures made, and was just about to make the appointment right before the wreck, and well obviously that never happened...and may not.  SO I just got out my Nikon Sunday after church and tried to get some cute ones myself.

 Now on a HOT summer Sunday it's not easy to get kids to cooperate, but they did very well.  Throw in some nature props (i.e. mushrooms, and pine cones and a tree) and they'll pretty much do what you want.

 I will admit these are my FAVORITE two I got of Joseph!  I honestly don't think a professional photographer could have captured anything better!!!  He is a cutie and I am obviously getting these printed to hang in his room!  He doesn't like to smile for the camera a lot so I didn't get as many with him smiling.  He SMILES ALL THE TIME, just NOT for my camera!

 I LOVE this one of him standing beside the tree...I forgot to edit that drain pipe out before posting it here, but will go back later and do that.  I love my new editing program, Picmonkey!  Picnik my previous program closed in April (probably why I've not been making as many pictures) but now I'm up and running again.

 He found the neatest mushroom, but by the end of our little photo shoot it was destroyed, gotta love he's ALL boy!

 Of course we had to get some of Emily while outside!  They turned out very well too!

 The one below is my favorite of her!  She didn't have on a fancy dress, but the bright colors in it really made the picture pop out against all that green grass and trees!  I just love I have the most beautiful subjects to photograph.

 I didn't get many together, BUT these turned out pretty good.  Joseph was raring and ready to run...or get back to climbing that tree.  I've sent these to Walmart.com and e-mailed them to most of you who read the blog.  Hope you enjoy!!!  Have a great week.  We'll be heading to MS this weekend for the FAIR!  Hope we're ready!

Peach Preserving 2012

 After our trip to the Sunflower patch we headed to Dickey's to get us some peaches!!!  I put up tons of peach jam last year and I wasn't going to let a wreck stop me this year.  Thankfully my pain is subsiding, and I went to physical therapy this morning so I'm going to be doing alot better, I hope soon. 

 While there, we had to get some peach ice cream.  We Georgians will eat ice cream any time of the day!

 Joseph just wanted to watch the fork lifts going back and forth with the peach crates.

 We got the peaches on Monday, and they didn't get good and ripe until today, Thursday!  SO after I got back from PT we got to work!!!  Emily helped alot, can't you tell from the above picture.  No, seriously she was a big help.  She measured the sugar, and helped squeeze these lemons!

 Joseph woke up early from his nap, he must've smelled the peaches, and knew he was missing out. He got to stir the 2nd batch. 

 We made 26 jars, and I've still got peaches left!!!  SO we went and got more jars, and I'll be back in the kitchen in the morning making one more batch.  We had home-made biscuits tonight and sampled and it was very good.  I did a different recipe, one batch has nutmeg and cinnamon in it, and it is GREAT!!!!  It's not as thick as my jam from last year, which I LOVE.  I am trying to make it different this year.  The jars on the left, are basically just canned peaches.  They are already SO sweet, I just hated to not save some canned as they are.  I'm going to test these in the morning.  If you want a jar let me know!!!

Sunflowers!!!!!!

 Just miles down our road is a beautiful sunflower patch that we discovered just miles from where we had our wreck.  I knew they would be getting full bloom so we headed out on Monday on our way to Dickey's to get peaches.  AND sure enough they were, AND the sky was the perfect blue too!!!!  The kids on the other hand were NOT being real cooperative with a mommy who's got whiplash and can't move as quick as I am use too.  SO the ones of the kids are not as good as the ones of the sunflowers!  Sunflowers don't move therefore I was able to get some beautiful photos of the flowers themselves.  Children however (ages 2 and 5) move constantly and do NOT like the sun in their eyes.  BUT all in all these turned out great considering it was only a week and a half since the wreck at the time.
