Joseph

Well over the past few days we've been dealing with some stomach issues in the Walker house. This photo above describes the whole week. I hesitate to say it's a stomach virus because it's not like any virus I've ever dealt with. Emily wasn't feeling good Saturday- Tuesday with hers, and on Tuesday woke up NOT good. But she soon recovered and by lunch wanted a peanut butter sandwich. Joseph on the other hand has had some nasty stomach issues since Sunday, and by Tuesday evening I was suspecting it wasn't just a virus. So I took him to the Dr. and they are running several labs on him and we'll know more this afternoon or tomorrow. The Dr. said that it is not a virus, to his knowledge, and thinks it's either Salmonella, shigella, e-coli, or listeria. All those things are super scary, especially for such a small little boy. He's not been eating well, but has been drinking and has kept off dehydration, so we are grateful for that. This morning he even had a pretty good breakfast and snack. We'll see how the rest of the day goes. I'll post more on the test results when I find them out.

Since we've been dealing with sickly children this week, God's really been speaking to my heart. First and foremost, he's reminded me that it could be SO much worse. No, I do not like changing nasty diapers, or cloroxing the house 20 times a day, BUT to think how good we really do have it, sets my perspective straight. Second, even though some have it MUCH worse, it's still been tough. It just made me think, don't ever judge someone on any area unless you know what they are going through. Actually we are not to judge anyone anyway, but especially if you don't know what someone's going through you have no right to point fingers, or turn your nose up at them. I've been a little perturbed lately how some people have made judgments upon me and our family, yet they really don't even know us. (for all our MS friends this isn't about you).

I'm just so thankful that God has placed such loving and kind friends, no matter what their age is, into our lives. After all the Bible says we, as Christians, are to encourage one another daily, and build each other up. God's so good, and I pray that you will ALL see and know that in this coming weekend. Thanks for your prayers, and I will post about his test results when I get them back.

What We've Been Up to

Last week Glenn had to travel to Boston for 3 days with work. We were unable to go (or I was unable to go because it was strictly business and they were busy the whole time they were there). Glenn got a few good shots of some of the things they got to do. They spoiled them of course, this is a yacht in front of their hotel, and I believe that he said the owners of the Patriots foot ball team owns it.
This was his breakfast he had served to his room.



At both games they went to they were in a boxed suit and were fed all kinds of great food!!! Too bad my job doesn't offer this kind of luxuries.

Last week we received our reward from the Pampers rewards program. Ever since Joseph was born I've been saving tags off our diapers boxes. Pampers has a reward program and you can earn points by saving the codes off wipes and diaper boxes and enter them in online. We finally earned enough to get a good reward. We got this little Radio Flyer Grow and Go bike. Joseph loves it, and so does his sister. At least we earned something for all those diapers we go through. SO if you use diapers in your family I strongly recommend using Pampers.

Last week was the first day of fall, and we did a little leaf project. Since their aren't many fall colors out there yet, we just used green ones, and she glued them on an L because 'L' is for leaf.

We've also been learning about God providing and protecting the Israelites army. Joshua and the battle of Jerico was last week, and today was Gideon. We made paper trumpets.
Joseph found the pointer one night and went over to the calendar and was "teaching" all by himself! I thought it was SO cute. Obviously he's learning more than we give him credit for.

Lastly, this weekend I did a cake and goodies for a friend of ours who's in our church, and the little girl is in my Sunday school class. She was having a princess party, so we did a princess cake, cake pops (which turned out WAY better than the previous ones, and were WAY easier to make), and princess cookies. I never got a picture of the finished cake but if I get her to send me one I will. I left Saturday morning and forgot it, and they live 20 minutes away. I also had a little problem with the icing Saturday morning, it had fallen and dripped all down the cake over night...BUT I fixed it and they all LOVED the cake. This picture is just the beginning photo.

Joseph's 18 Months Old

Our sweet little boy turned 18 months old today...that's right a year and a half! We like to think that he's the cutest little boy ever, but we're a little partial. He wasn't feeling too good today because he's got a bad cold, or either his allergies are really acting up. We managed to get a few good smiles though. He's wearing green to remember that he was born on St. Patrick's day!
There's not much this little boy can't do. He loves to eat, and bananas, watermelon & pancakes are his favorite!!! He loves most vegetables too, but doesn't like carrots. He has 11 teeth so he can definitely chew better than he use to. He's a sneaky little fellow too, as he LOVES to climb and we find him everywhere! If it gets quiet you know to go look for him because he's probably up to something.







He goes for his checkup on Monday so I don't know how much he weighs to be exact or how tall he is, but I don't think he's put on too many pounds since his 15 months check up. He's a little fellow, but is a lively little thing. We hope you all have a great week! Pray for us as he gets his shots on Monday morning.

A blessed Week

After posting all about Emily's party I realized I never posted about all the other stuff we did last week while Mamaw & Papaw were here. As you can see from above both kids greeted their Papaw the next morning on his air mattress and helped him deflate it. Below are pictures from our Museum of Arts and Sciences. The big exhibit now is the tusks and mammoths. It was very educational for sure, although I'm not sure how much Joseph learned but he got to explore if nothing else.



They had a small dinosaur dig replica for the kids to pretend dig for fossils. I think many kids have been there before as their was nothing left for them to dig in.



As always we had to get their picture in front of the big polar bear who stands tall in the opening to the children's floor.

Joseph loved this lizard thing. Not sure it's exact name, but he went crazy every time Joseph got near him, and Joseph just loved it. Yucky looking but they liked each other.


We had a fun week, and Papaw got to do several projects but the best one was to build us a gate on our back deck. Now we can all go out on the back and have picnics, play in the sand without worrying about Joseph falling off the steps. Keep my daddy in your prayers, he had a biospy done yesterday and we're waiting to hear from the results. The Dr. said everything looked normal from the outside, so we're just praying those test results come back normal too!!! Thanks in advance for your prayers!!!
