Fall Festival 2011

This year the Walker family dressed as the Mary Poppins crew. These photos were actually taken when we got back home so Emily's hair was a little messed up...but we always make a family picture on the front porch in our outfits. I just want to say that I think we were the cutest family at fall festival...and I think Glenn got more compliments than anyone...and he did look very good (minus the red scarf).

Joseph had so much fun can you tell. He didn't get too much sugar but you can't tell it.

He was playing peek-a-boo!

On the hayride around the church parking lot. It was a little bumpy and my neck is now thrown out on a limb and NOT feeling too good. Joseph did not like the hayride either!

Joseph loved the pick-up-ducks the best and we couldn't hardly get him away from them. Emily was watching the spin art...but she wouldn't do one...too much excitement.

Emily and some of our sweet young college students, Christina, and Casey.

Below you see Madeline giving, or trying to give Joseph a hug. He wasn't having too much of it. Normally she just loves all on him and he doesn't mind, but he was ready to go home. After all we were at church on Saturday for just about 12 hours straight!!!! And then this morning for 3 hours and then tonight again...see my post below on the rest of our weekend!!!

SPLASH 2011

This weekend we participated in our churches local missions/revival weekend. It began on Friday night with a guest preacher. Saturday morning it started with breakfast and then everyone breaking into their groups for various projects in the community. Glenn's crew were in charge of doing a few yards, weed eating, burning leaves, and cutting grass. Some of the other houses had major work to be done on them: painting, roofing, etc. I went with our children (older 1st-6th grades) to the food bank to pack boxes for the needy (those pictures are at the bottom). In the afternoon I helped back at the church with childcare. Getting the kids lunch fed, and getting them down for naps.
A friend of mine got some cute shots with my camera of her little girl Madeline and Joseph outside on the playground. They are little sweeties! She is very protective of her Joseph! If anyone else tries to hug him she lets them know really quick that he's "taken". I thought it was so cute that they have the same sweaters on from Carter's. Her's is of course the girls one, and his the boys one.

Emily's group had alot of fun doing different projects too. In the afternoon we let them have a little quiet time with a movie.

This one is out of order, but SO cute of all the little ones getting ready for lunch!

1st Haircut for Joseph

Well I finally broke down and had Joseph's hair cut! I debated on it, because I just love his little baby curls and hair, but on a whim I just went ahead and did it. The curls were starting to not curl anymore and it was just getting messed up. I really hate I did it now, because he looks SO much like a little boy :( I want him to be a little baby, but oh well we have to grow up. I may not cut it again for a while though. the lady didn't do the best of jobs (don't tell her that), but I can't blame her considering how much he turned his head. I'm hoping it will all even out a little better as it starts growing.

I couldn't get a picture while she was cutting because I had to hold him, and I took them by myself. It's super crowded on weekends, so I just got a picture of him afterward. Emily also got about 3 1/2 inches cut too, which she desperately needed!!! Hers turned out WAY better than his did.

He enjoyed watching his sister get hers cut, and obviously I don't have many pictures of her haircut because I was chasing him around the shop! Little Joseph is now becoming a big boy!

The BIG Mosquito Bite

Well that bite he got at the museum and in our back yard (for the other areas), got really big! He could hardly open it this morning, so we called the Dr. They had us come in, and he started him on antibiotics. He took Benadryl at 7 am, and after he woke up from his nap around 1:00 pm when the Benadryl had worn off, his eye was completely shut!!!! By around 5:00 this afternoon he was able to open it again. I think he'll mend...but it's super scary how bad his bites get!

Marvelous Monday

Emily had a fun day with her best little friend Mary Grace. We went to the science museum (which wasn't open today), but we walked on the trail and had us a little photo shoot. A quick one because brother was getting eaten up by mosquitoes.

Silly girls! Tonight we carved our pumpkin. It turned out cute to me. Joseph kept going up to it saying, "eyes, eyes" pointing to the eyes!
