Night of the Stars

This is Emily's 3rd year attending Night of the Stars at our church.  It's our end of the summer/beginning of the year event we do for the kids.  It's a big deal as they get to ride the limo from a local place to the church. I can't believe how grown up she looks here!!!! SLOW down girl!!!!

This little cutie also loves sitting up alone now.  She doesn't like to be put in a seat or anything that keeps her from moving around.  She's not crawling and I'm thankful for that!!!!!  But boy she sure can smile!!!!!  I love this sweet girl SO much.  She's having tubes put in her ears this upcoming Monday!  Praying it goes well and that it keeps her from getting all these ear infections!

First Days of School 2015/2016

This year marks a new year of change for Walker Homeschool.  We are still homeschooling just adding some extra things to help make our homeschool thrive.  Emily began Veritas Classical Schools this week and goes twice during the week for classes.  She will be given assignments to complete the other days she is home.  This still makes it possible for us to do all the fun stuff we have been doing (Art, cooking, experiments etc).  Veritas is a wonderful fully accredited school that I had told Glenn when we first began homeschooling that I wanted to enroll her in by 4th grade.  Its a wonderful way for Emily to get out of the house some, meet new friends, and be taught by highly trained teachers!!!!  I told someone last night at church that my first impressions with Veritas are like it is college for kids!!!!!  She will be fully prepared by the time she enters college no doubt if she continues in this!  I can't believe this is our 5th year homeschooling!!!!  Emily, on her first day of school says "When I grow up I want to be a music artist".  Quite fitting for her!!!!

Joseph also is doing something a little different this year.  We homeschooled him in preschool K4 last year and he did GREAT.  He learned all his letters, learned to write his name (very well), learned numbers 1-20, and many more skills.  We felt that K5 would be a great fit for him this year, and God opened up the door for him to go to kindergarten for 4 hours, 5 days a week at the same church where Emily's Veritas meets!  He is SOOOOO excited about his class and went today for his 2nd day and he didn't even tell me bye or give me a hug.  On his first day yesterday I asked him what he wants to be when he grows up and he said, "I want to be a scientist when I grow up".  I wasn't surprised.  This little guy LOVES science, exploring and making experiments!!!!! He wanted to pick flowers to take to his teacher so he went out back and picked some zinnias and black eyed susans to take to her.  Precious little boy!!!!!!

He was not sure he wanted to stay but he was a big boy and God prepared his heart and he never cried.  Neither did I!

Neshoba County Fair 2015

The Fair this year was our first trip back to MS in 8 months!!!!!!!!!  We went Nov. 2014 for Thanksgiving when I pregnant with Grace, and didn't get to come back until the end of July.  WAY TOO LONG TO GO WITHOUT BEING IN MISSISSIPPI.  BUT we enjoyed every minute of being at Mamaw and Papaw's house, and being at the Fairgrounds.  Enjoy the pictures!
