RA Racer Derby

Today was the first RA racer derby at Tabernacle. Emily did a car last year in the open category, because Glenn is a leader in RA's. This year she did another one. Her's is the one with the #5 on it. It's glittery with googley eyes on it. She got 3rd place in design (out of 6 other cars pretty good for a 5 year old) and 4th place in speed! It wasn't the fastest cars but it got her enough to go to the regional race next Saturday. I haven't made a picture with her and her trophies but will this afternoon.

Surgery

Joseph had his adenoids removed this morning because they were enlarged. Glad we decided to do it because they were very inflammed too. everything went well, and we were home after noon. he woke up from the anesthesia screaming, but after 30 minutes he got awake and ate 2 popscicles. he ate a good lunch and now is refusing to nap!!!!! We pray he continues to improve fast. I think he'd heal faster of course if he'd SLEEP!!!!!! BUT that's not what he's thinking right now. Have a great weekend.

I'm really NOT sure what's going on with my blog, but the photos will not upload in the right order. They keep stacking on top of each other. Sorry that it looks so funny. But I had to post the science experiment we did the other day. We took a glass of water, and dropped about 5-6 raisins in it. We studied how they sank to the bottom. Then we added 2 tsp. of baking soda and 2 tsp of vinegar and stirred it good. After we let it set a few minutes the raisins started floated up to the top of the surface and then sank back down, up and down they went. It was SO cute. It went along well with our lesson of Jesus being ascended back into heaven, and how he'll come back to earth again one day to get his children! You can tell Joseph loved it. He just wanted to eat the raisins.

My sweet boy taking a nap the other day. I had to get a picture of him. Isnt he just the cutest thing. He was smiling at me when I woke him up. And it was time for him to wake up! Thats the only reason I'd be waking him up. He goes to have his adenoids out on Friday morning. He went for his pre-op yesterday. He weighed in at only 22 lbs.!!! My little guy. Yes we do feed him. He doesn't eat like a horse mind you, but he eats. The photo below makes you think he never gets fed. But he's a cutie.

I'm not sure why my photos are not uploading correctly, but they're acting up and being placed in weird positions today. BUT here are some pictures of Mary Grace's birthday party from yesterday. She turned 6 and her grandmother asked me to help do her party last fall after Emily's butterfly party. I so much fun and have so much fun with all parties I couldn't resist. I did the banner on the wall in the back ground it says "Mary Grace", and did the cake, decorations and games. I also was a "princess" who face painted led games, and read them "The parable about the King" by Beth Moore. It was a super fun day.

The name place cards are little castles made of a toliet paper tube, and crowns. The castle to the right with purple windows is a punch game. Each guest got to punch through the tissue paper to get their prize. SUPER neat idea!

Then here's the cake. She wanted it to look like Cinderella, not sure I accomplished that, but it's a very pretty princess with a blue dress on. And the cake was the most awesome chocolate cake I've ever tasted! They demolished half of it! See the photo below.

The box below is a castle made from a Dell box Glenn brought home from work. I painted it to look like a castle and painted a princess on the back. They played pin the crown on the princess with it, and loved it! They would've done it the whole time I think.

Ms. Jackie holding the balloons to give each girl as they left. We were all glad to see 4:00 come I will say that, but it was a fun filled party. Mary Grace's daddy says I need to go into party planning. I would if I had some customers...but I better watch what I wish for, you just never know! I have NO clue what's wrong with the pictures and why they won't upload right, but maybe this week it'll get straightened out for my next blog. Hope you have a great week.

Happy Valentines Day

We played a little Valentine game this morning that they loved. I wrote out some action words on hearts, and they had to run down to me pick a heart and do what it said. Some of them were, "Clap 5 x's, run, skip, jump, hop, etc.). Joseph LOVED it. I had 50's at the hop type music playing and he was in his element!!!

After a few rounds of the game and all action words were completed they just enjoyed dancing to the "new" music. I'll have to play that CD again soon. Hope you have a great Valentines day.

Full Week

We had a full week, that started last Sunday, and we are just now taking a deep breath and relaxing. We had our church-wide super bowl party last Sunday night, and it was a blast. i did the foot ball cake, and cake pops above, which were a hit. Everything was gone! This whole week we've been working on Valentines day things. These were the cards the kids made in Sunday school for their parents to get today. They did the handprints last Sunday and I brought them home and decorated them up a little bit.
Friday night we had our church-wide Valentine banquet. Mary Grace came over that afternoon and stayed the night with us, and all day Saturday too. The kids were enjoying their pizza supper before Glenn and I had to leave.

These cute little Valentine suckers I made out of left over mini-candy canes from Christmas. I just poured melted white chocolate inside them added a stick and some sprinkle, and there you go. I got the idea off Pinterest so don't think I'm all that crafty. And I gave them a little sack of skittles, and pack of Extra gum. It said, "Like a Rainbow, you add EXTRA color to our class".

Joseph got a special heart sticker today on his cheek. He was so excited. After lunch he decided to relax and read the tractor magazine. Such a little man in the making! Hope you all have a great week, and Valentines day!

Just had to post!

I know I've started the new painting blog...but for those of you who haven't checked it out, I wanted to post my new creation. I got the idea off Pinterest, so don't think I'm all that creative :) It looks WAY WAY better in person hanging above my mantle! SO excited about painting. Pass along to others, even if you're out of GA. I can ship and it's really not that expensive. I shipped one the other week and it wasn't that bad.

FUN Week!

We started the week by making a volcano, from a kit that our friend Ms. Jackie gave us. We made it on Monday, and then painted it, and on Tuesday we got to erupt it. There's nothing more fun that some baking soda and vinegar...come on you know you ALL love to mix these two together and see there reaction. Joseph loved watching it too. We had to repeat it again when Daddy got home of course.

Joseph's gotten a fascination with hats lately. You can catch him either running around with a hat on, or somebody's shoes. He's learned how to put on shoes and take them off. Please note the below picture, that he's hanging on to that blanket for dear life. Yes, he has to have this blankie all the time (except when he's eating or playing outdoors).
BUT he's also learned something from his sister that I'm not too happy about. He has watched her pull a chair anywhere she can't reach something and climb in it. Now he's seen ALL day pulling chairs all through the house to stand in them. I'm not sure what he was looking for up at the sink, but he didn't get a chance to find it. I cannot tell you how many times I've said, "no no, Joseph, no no" today!!! He's learning how to say "no no" too!

The Many Faces of Joseph Benjamin!

I can't believe that next month my little baby boy will be 2!!!! How is that possible? For the past month we've not seen many smiles from him, because he's cutting his 4 eye teeth, and that has made him one irritable little boy (and still is). BUT the other night he was the happiest little thing, so I ran and grabbed the camera and got some cute shots of him and all his faces. He's just started making the cutest little faces. Pick which is your favorite, I have mine, but he's just adorable!!!!
