37 weeks pregnant

The sunset the other evening! The camera didn't pick up how beautiful it really was!!!

Well I had my 37 week check up today and everything seems to be going fine. My blood pressure was 110/60, only gained 1 pound, his heartrate is strong. When he measured me he asked if I could tell if he'd dropped, and of course I have. A few days ago I could tell that I was carrying a little lower than I had been. He said that I measured 36 1/2 cm...only a 1 cm more than last week. Meaning that he'd dropped. Then he checked and he said I was still 1 cm, but at -3 station, meaning he could feel the head. Last week he couldn't feel the head, and said he was still high. I've been seeing my Dr. every week, instead of rotating with the others in hopes that he will be able to deliver this baby. We had an oncall Dr. when Emily was born, everything was fine, BUT I just want my Dr. to deliver this baby.

We talked some details about delivery, but overall he just said to wait and see where I'm at next week at 38 weeks. I'm hoping that I'll be favorable to deliver in 2 weeks when my Dr. goes on call. Please pray I dilate more, and thin out and the head drops even more in 2 weeks. You know I'll be hitting the pavement now and doing all I can to help this baby out on his on. I'm full term now, so we don't have to worry about having a 'pre-term' baby. Keep us in your prayers.

We have a busy weekend planned as Glenn's grandaddy turned 90 this week, and we are having his BIG 90th birthday party. His sister flew in today from Illinois and his brother will be here from Birmingham tomorrow night. Hope to make good pictures for y'all!!!

36 1/2 Weeks pregnant

Glenn made pictures this week of my "bigness". Emily also enjoyed pretending to make pictures with our old camera that is broken. I don't know about y'all but we had a wonderful weekend. The sun was out and temperatures in the low to mid 60's Saturday & Sunday. We got our Walmart shopping done early Saturday morning, then took Emily out for pizza, then stopped at the playground at FPD before heading home. She ran and played forever and loved every minute of it with her new friend, Maggie that we met, with her parents of course. The little girl Maggie was also 3 and after talking with her parents we found out she is a miracle baby. You wouldn't know it watching her run and slide with Emily, but she was born at 31 weeks, and weighed a little over 3 pounds. They said that she never had any trouble breathing and no major health problems except with her digestive system, something that will work out on its own.Overall, we had a wonderful weekend, and Glenn got some great shots of my big self. I'll be 37 weeks in 3 days, which if full term, and let me say I'm ready to meet little baby Joseph so bad. I dreamed last night that I gave birth here at home...and what I remember the most was when he came out and I first looked at him, I thought "WOW he looks just like Emily". I am just ready to see him and hold him. 3 more weeks to go until he's here though. It's A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Today has been the most beautiful day we have seen in a long time. The temperatures have gotten up to 60 degrees and the sun is out and shining!!! Once it warmed up after lunch, we gathered all our old crackers and stale cereal and headed right down the road to feed the ducks & geese. We are very fortunate that we live on this beautiful Lake and can drive just a mile or two to a great place where the ducks and geese are always waiting for some lunch! The geese are a little more bold and LOUD, so they get most of the food.It was so nice being able to do this without the wind blowing too hard too. It seems as soon as we get some spring weather, comes the spring winds. Emily really enjoyed feeding them, and isn't as scared as she use to be. They just come right up to her and a few of them are as tall as she is. She just throws them cereal, crackers, or whatever we've got like nothings to bother her.
There is one goose, a Canadian goose, that has a crippled foot. Once the other ducks and geese had gone back to the water, she said, "Here let's make sure he gets some, Awe poor thing, Awe poor thing". It's so sweet to see her compassion for the ones who are left out.I hope you have a great weekend, and enjoy this warmer weather, if you have it in your area.

36 Weeks

Well today was my 36 week checkup. Everything seems to be on track and normal. My blood pressure was 120/60, heartbeat strong, I'm measuring exactly 36 week, and everything else was fine. He did check me and I am around 1 cm (not much), but the baby's head is still high, so he doesn't foresee him coming early. I now only pray that he'll still induce a few days before instead of making me wait until after my due date. If that's the case we have 3 1/2 weeks left if not we've got 4 or more. I talked with him about pain medications during labor, and not that he wasn't encouraging about me going all natural, he just thinks that since my labor with Emily was so long, that this one might be long too, not near as long, but long enough that I might need and want an epidural. Please be in prayer about that, because I did not want to get one this time. I'm not one of those who wants to tough it out and say I did it, I just don't want the affects of an epidural. My blood pressure dropped WAY low before, and I hated not feeling my legs. Fortunately they cut it off so it was wearing off a good bit before she was born, but I'm just real concerned now as to what I need to do. I had already decided that I wanted to use narcotics for pain relief, but he and the other Dr. in my group don't recommend going that route as it can sometimes pass to the baby and the baby comes out on a Demerol high. Keep praying that everything goes smoothly and we get him here healthy!!!

Wednesday Update

After recovering from all the sicknesses last week, we are kind of taking it easy this week. Emily's steriods from the croup are slowly wearing off. Her appetite has definitely picked up, I don't know if that is from the medicine or just from not eating all last week hardly. It has been a little cold outside since the snow we had this weekend, so we've not been able to get out and enjoy the beautiful sunshine God's blessed us with, but maybe this afternoon we can. I made some neat pictures from our birdfeeders of a red-headed wood pecker and a chick a dee. Our squirrels have figured out how to get on my squirrel proof feeders, so it's not as fun watching them now.In some spare time this week I pulled pictures from all during the pregnancy to track how big the baby is growing. I know we have 4 weeks (or less) left, but it is neat to see how a person's body can change over 9 months!!! I'll post the pictures I did from 6 weeks pregnant to 35 weeks. I am starting to feel more miserable, having many more braxton hicks contractions, and lower back pain. My feet are definitely swelling and I've had to take off my wedding rings. I go for my 36 week check up tomorrow so I'll update on that when I get back. I hope you all have a great rest of the week!

Happy Valentines Day: Emily's 4th valentines

We had a good Valentines at church yesterday. With all the snow gone, except for our snow girl, we had a pretty "normal" day. I made goodies for our little Sunday school class, and we made some cute crafts for their parents. I just wanted to share a few pictures with you from yesterday.
We made their pictures to go in the frames, I just wanted to make this cute picture with them looking through the frames. They are all such sweet children. We were missing a few of our normal kids, I guess because of Presidents Day weekend.

Emily's had a rough time with the steriods they had to give her for the croup, so I hope today they will start to wear off. Her last dose was Saturday, so maybe today we'll have some relief. Last night she threw the BIGGEST tantrum, and again this morning. Please pray for my sanity...and for the baby to not been affected by all her screaming. Maybe it'll get him use to the noise. I did however wake up 4 times with contractions last night. They were that painful enough to wake me up...but I just went back to sleep each time no problem. I'm not having many this morning so I'm sure everything is fine. I hope you all have a great week.

Snow in the South

My little Snow Angel...after a very hard week!!!

Yes it is true we had snow in the South, from Ft. Worth, to Georgia. They got 12 inches in Dallas, and by the time it got to us we only got 2-3 inches, BUT we still got some. My brother Jason, in Vicksburg, got around 7 inches, and my parents got around 4-5 inches. I was real skeptical that we would get any considering they had gotten so much. It usually never makes it all the way over here, but never the less we got some. It started snowing here around 1:00pm Friday after lunch, and started sticking around 3:30. By 5:30 we were able to go out in it and play a little. Since Emily has been sick with the croup we didn't want to keep her out long, so after about 10 minutes, we came in dried off and watched it out the window while we ate supper. Watching it snow last night before bed. These were the smaller flakes, the BIG ones had stopped around 6:30pm.
I knew it wasn't going to melt before morning, so I promised Emily we'd go out and make a snowman this morning.Watching the sunrise this morning through the ice covered trees. It was SO beautiful and peaceful.

Emily has been taking our old camera (the one she broke this time last year) around everywhere, I guess she's pretending to be me. She had to wear it outside this morning, but put it down pretty quick once we got to playing.

And that's just what we did...or tried to do. This snow was not as wet, this morning at least, so it was VERY hard to get the little snow girl to stick together. We finally had to add water to it, to make the snow freeze and stick together. The snow was so light and fluffy, not wet and yucky like last year's snow. So at 8:30 am this morning we were out playing in it, before it melted. It's almost 4:00pm now, and it's almost all gone. It was nice with the sun out though, and Emily didn't mind because she got to "sled". Her sleds were the top to her sandbox, and a pool inter tube. I mainly made the snow girl because she wasn't interested. Glenn called her our short, fat little snow girl.

We were the only people out this morning, and I don't know why because there are plenty of kids in our neighborhood, and they should've all known that the snow would be melting fast, but oh well, we enjoyed ourselves. Pregnant and playing in the snow. I think I over did it, but who knows when we will all see snow again, especially here in Macon. This is the famous red coat I wore in Ft. Worth when we had so much snow out there. I'm shocked I could zip it...won't be able to much longer.

Baby Shower

Last night we had a baby shower for me and for Amy Watson at the Olive Garden. She is having a girl and due April 5th, and I am due March 18th. It was a late night but we had alot of fun. Baby Joseph got some cute things. We enjoyed the wonderful food of Olive Garden, and then enjoyed a home-made cake by one of the ladies in our church. It was all VERY good, but I over ate, as any pregnant woman would, and didn't sleep too good last night.

Of course Emily was asleep when I got home so she didn't get to see all the stuff until this morning. We had another "baby shower" this morning with Emily doing the opening. Since the other day she has had some other health issues. Her voice started sounding bad on Tuesday and Wednesday she started sounding really scary. We took her Thursday morning to her Dr. and she has croup!!! He put her on prednisone, which has definitely made her feel better, no fever and all but has mad her a little bossy and moody!!! I will be glad when she takes her last dose tomorrow for sure.

No, we're not having triplets...I got the same outfit in 3 different sizes (0-3 months, 3-6, and 6-9) I guess they were all thinking alike, but the funny thing is I've been wanting to buy this outfit everytime I see it, so I guess I got it huh.

And no we aren't having a girl, I don't know how I got away with pink balloons, we had both blue and pink last night, but Amy's girls sent them for Emily, that's how they're pink.

We are watching it snow right now, and so I am sure that I'll have some snow pictures to post. We aren't expected to get near what they did in MS and in AL, but hey, it's collecting on the grill more than nothing right now. Hope you all have a great Valentines weekend.35 weeks picture!!!
