Parent's Day Out starts tomorrow

Well September 1st is tomorrow, and with the new month begins our new ministry at Tabernacle Baptist Church, our Parent's Day out. We have 18 children enrolled, and need 10 more kids for the program to pull through. Keep us in your prayers for getting these 10 more kids!!! Also be in prayer for everything to run smoothly, and for all the kids & workers to be healthy and safe. With so much sickness going around, and with me being pregnant, please pray we'll be free from all illnesses.
Last night we had a wonderful service, as Glenn and 2 other men were ordained as deacon's. It was a sweet and special service and all 3 young men had to stand before the church and give their testimonies. Glenn was nervous about that because he doesn't like to get up before people but he did really well. He did extremely well considering that half way through his testimony the power went out. He didn't miss a beat and kept on going. It came back on half way into the 3rd guy's testimony, probably just a dramatic as the power going off. Glenn's parents came over for the weekend so we enjoyed spending time with his family.

I hope you all have a great week. I'm almost 12 week into the pregnancy and out of the 1st trimester. I'm feeling some what better with the "morning sickness", just still be having trouble with acid reflux and heart burn. I've been craving Arby's roast beef sandwiches, and sweets (probably not a good thing). Keep praying little Walker is growing and developing normally. I go for my next OB Dr. appt. next Tuesday, so I'm getting a little ready for it...although I hate to step on that scale!!! I'll try to blog more this week, it's just been so busy.

Last Full Week of August

Last Fall, Emily in the neighborhood.

I will be so happy when August is over...with it comes cooler weather (hey I can hope), and lots of fun events. Fall is around the corner despite what some may say. Each morning it's beginning to be cooler and the sky is starting to turn that beautiful rich blue to accent the colorful trees when they turn. Can you tell I LOVE Fall. Glenn does too, maybe that's why we make a good match.

Anyway, this week I have lots to do getting ready for Parent's Day Out which starts a week tomorrow, on Sept. 1st. God has sent hopefully another teacher our way, and I hope in meeting her tomorrow it will verify that. We still need 2 more teachers and I know God will provide. We have almost 20 kids enrolled and for that I'm excited too. I wasn't sure what to expect but we have several non church members who'll be bringing their kids. Pray that things continue to fall into place.

Friday night we had a children's banquet at church, and all the kids got to ride up to the church in a limo. I made Emily's picture in front of it. She was so funny, she said "Man that's a big car!". We had a great weekend, and I'm feeling much better today. We made home-made ice cream after lunch and I actually did some weeding outside. I don't know what we'll be having for supper, but at least I got some stuff done this morning that was fun quality time for Emily. We also made home-made brownies to take to church tomorrow for our work day. I have tons more to do before this day ends so I'd best stop blogging. Here's a BAD picture of me at 10 weeks. I'm getting "FAT", or baby big as Glenn says, but fat feeling to me.

Well it's Friday

I apologize for not blogging as much, but this week has been crazy with Emily not napping long and all. She seems to be feeling MUCH better since she got her antibiotic on Monday for her UTI. They had her scheduled for another VCUG (x-ray of bladder etc.) on Monday, but we have scheduled one in Atlanta with her Pediatric Urologist. I can't believe that they were going to do the test while the poor child is still on antibiotic for an infection...that couldn't feel good (not that it does anyway). September will be a very busy month for us for sure then. We start our Parent's Day Out program on Sept. 1st, and it will meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 9-1pm. I'm excited about it, and ask for your prayers as we still need 3 more workers to make it happen. We start in a little over a week and I'm really in need of prayers on this!!!!Of course the rest of the month will be filled with Emily's birthday, and party, first dentist appointment, my 2nd "baby" Dr. appointment (as Emily calls it), and her Dr. to the urologist and that scan. Whew!!! Hopefully by the time all this passes we will be into a little bit of cooler weather. It's been so hot lately that I've not had much energy to walk, but have managed to still exercise some. Today my walking consisted of walking in Walmart, the Goodwill, Lifeway, Michael's, and Party City, and Ross dress for less. I think I got in a good bit today...and all by myself too. I was suppose to go to the MOPS registration meeting, BUT somehow over slept and couldn't get there in time, darn...but I still took Emily to Hannah's house so I could have a morning to my self...and a quiet lunch to myself.

I hope that you all have a great weekend. Glenn has move-in weekend so Emily and I will get some extra "girl-time". I've been doing much better with the nausea...still taking my B6 and 1/2 of unisom in the morning...but I've learned to drink and eat and I'll be fine. If I don't have water or something with sugar every 2 hours though I'm not so good. Today while out I realized I forgot my water and I'd been gone 2 hours...so I pulled in the Zaxby's drive through and got a big cup of water (with their wonderful ice), for FREE!!! That made me smile for sure. Anyway, have a great weekend.

God's Rainbow

I cannot imagine what hell is going to be like for those who do now know Jesus as their Savior and Lord, but I could sure have given some people a little glimpse of some of it today if they had walked in my shoes. I know the Bible says their will be weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth, and we've had all those today. I woke up this morning, feeling just terrible with the "morning sickness" as I didn't sleep well b/c of a migraine and allergies. I spent some time in prayer first thing because I knew I would need it. It turned out this whole day was spent in prayer...praying with out ceasing!!! We had to go to the church to get things ready for Parent's Day out which starts in 2 weeks!!! Emily had fun playing with a friend, but when it got time to go she decided that she wanted to throw the biggest baddest tantrum ever seen in this Walker household. She didn't throw just one of them while there trying to leave, but 4 of them.

As I would get her calm and get closer to the door of leaving it would happen again. So I would take her to a side room and try to calm her. I will not get into any more horror of the day, but just say that it did not improve. I have never seen Emily throw down, like this so I was in such shock. Not having a paddle with me I spanked her with my hand...not working...so we went and purchased new "paddles" today, and things seem to be turning up.

The Dr. called to confirm that she does have a UTI, so we continue with the antibiotics. I know that UTI's can make you feel like total crap, so I have some sympathy for her...but disobedience and defiance is enough. Tonight Glenn had to go back to work at 6:30 after only being home for an hour to eat, so I totally was about to lose my mind. Literally I thought that I was going to pass out and find myself in a mental hospital or something. I was cramping and starting to get very anxious so I had Emily put her shoes on so we could go in the yard. Let me just say right now that the effort to get outside was TOTALLY a God thing. She started playing on her own "grilling" and cooking for her babies...while I weeded the "garden" of peppers and carrots. It then started to sprinkle and I look up in the sky and see it....God's beautiful promise...a rainbow!!!

The rainbow got brighter and was even a double rainbow for a while. We pulled up our little chairs and propped a big umbrella over us and sat there for 30 minutes looking at this rainbow and listening to it rain. It was by far the most wonderful thing I've experienced in a long time. Emily just sat there and we talked and thanked God for the rainbow. It was truly so sweet. I cannot tell you how this simple rainbow has given me hope and joy and revived me. My daddy is having revival at his church this week...I pray it goes wonderful for them...but for me my revival was tonight, watching God speak to me and my little toddler through a rainbow.

As she bathed and got ready for bed tonight, Emily looked at me and said, "Thank you mommy for sitting with me on the porch under the umbrella while we watched the rainbow and rain!!". Can you beat that. Even my little child understood how important that time was. How awsome our God is. I feel like such a failure, and am without His strength, but He reminds me and all of us in different ways that HE IS ALWAYS with us.

On that note, good news, Glenn got the results back from his scan and his liver is normal. The small spot was just a small group of blood vessels, hematoma. Praise to the Lord God who HEARS and answers our prayers!!!! I pray you all have a wonderful rest of the week.

What's New

Well this is what's new in our life...not much. We woke up this morning, early thanks to Emily, with plans of relaxing and doing not much. BUT of course all that can change. I noticed last night ants in Emily's bathroom, and this morning there was LOTS more of them. So I decided to pick up everything on her floor, which was a major ordeal as it was messy, and spray with some stuff until the pest control man could come this week. As I was about to pick up the mats I looked on the floor and saw a scorpion!!! You got it right a scorpion!!! And he was alive! He didn't stay alive for long as he was beaten to death with Emily's big hair washing cup (the same one that Glenn used to kill the HUGE tarantula in the mountains 2 years ago, guess that cup has seen alot of bugs). With him dead I knew we had to do a major overhaul of the house!!! We cleaned up the bathroom COMPLETELY, and then moved into the living room and dining room. She had piles of toys everywhere, and since I've not felt good lately I've let picking up slide. NOT ANYMORE!!! Bugs love piles of toys, shoes, puzzles and books. After cleaning and dusting all morning we finally finished. I do feel much better now that there's less clutter. BUT Mr. Bug man will be coming in the morning to spray for any other critters that may be lurking in the house still. I had no idea that scorpions were in our area. I'm going to look it up. The only other time I saw one was in the mountains this year in the cabin...maybe we brought him back as a baby and he had just been hiding in a closet until now???? Who knows but I do not want to see another one!!!

Can you tell I'm obsessed with this! I've also been extremely exhausted today, well who wouldn't be after all I just told you I did. But I do ask for your prayers for one thing. This pregnancy has been similar to Emily's, but one thing, I am the most irritable, mad little hornet than I've ever been. It's NOT fun having such mood swings, especially with Emily. She's been pretty good today, but this week has not been as good for her. She's been a whiny, fussy little girl about everything. Anyway, I just pray that these mood swings will end SOON!!!

Hope you have a great rest of the week. Here's a picture of Emily entertaining herself this morning.

Weekend with Cousins

Glenn's sister and their kids came back through Macon after their vacation in Orlando this past week. We got to see them a little bit Saturday and Sunday. Emily loved playing with them, and woke up this morning asking if she was going to play with them again. It would be great to live close to them for sure.

I've been feeling a little better, but still nauseated. As long as I eat snacks I'm ok. My cardiologist just told me that I need to eat more salt and drink lots of water. He doesn't want to put me on any heart medicine unless I start passing out. I've done what he says and can't say I see a difference but know it'll help soon. Glenn hasn't heard back on his test yet, but I know that everything is fine. He goes to the Dr. next Monday, and they said they'd call if they got the results back before then. Keep praying as we wait. I honestly think he needs a HIDA scan to check his gallbladder, or a colonoscopy to see what's the problem.

I hope you all have a great week.

8 Weeks

Well I'm 8 weeks into the pregnancy. As I wrote the other day the morning/all day sickness has hopefully hit it's peak and will only last 4-5 more weeks I hope. I wanted to put up pictures of the ultrasound I had on Monday. It's funny because they did this on Monday and it's Thursday now, so the baby has grown even more by now I'm sure. Please keep me in your prayers as I don't want to be sick, but know that as long as I am sick the baby is growing. I guess my prayer would be that I wouldn't show signs that I'm sick around Emily. She asks at night, "You not going to be sick tomorrow Mommy". It breaks my heart. After another 4 weeks I am hoping that I won't be and we can spend more reading, puzzle, cooking, etc. time together.

Glenn is having a CT scan in the morning on his liver, so please pray that everything comes back normal with this. I'm not sure if I had mentioned this, but the day before we left for the fair, his Dr. called him and said that the ultrasound he had a few weeks ago came back that there was a spot on his liver. He said it was small, but just wanted to go ahead and do this scan to rule anything out. Pray for him in the morning!!! I also have an appointment with my electro-cardiologist regarding my tachycardia problem. I've been having major problems with it in the mornings, so please pray it clears up WITHOUT medications while I'm pregnant. Dr. Barnes (my OB) was concerned b/c my heart rate was really high the other day when I was in his office, and I told him in the mornings it goes up to 130 and even 150 one time. I really don't want to have to take medicines during the first trimester, so again just pray. I'll update on anything I hear soon.

Well we got back last night from our week long trip to the Fair. I've not been able to post or upload pictures until we got home so sorry for the delay. We enjoyed ourselves very much, except I started having morning/noon/night sickness while there. I spent alot of time laying down, but I still had fun and so did Glenn & Emily. We started the trip with the rodeo on Friday night, then the flea market on Saturday, and Gold City on Sunday night. We did have alot of rain this year so we weren't able to walk around and do as much. Emily did get to play in the mud/rain alot.

Oh another note, I had my first OB appt. today and everything was great. I got to see and hear the heartbeat on the ultrasound, and it was SO amazing. They couldn't hear it that early when I was first pregnant with Emily. It was around 141 or 148 beats per minute. So sweet!!! I was worried for a while with all the cramping that something was wrong. Keep praying that this little baby Walker continues to grow and develop normally. I don't go to the Dr. for another 5 weeks so I have some time to wait now. If I can make it through these next 5 weeks I'll be glad...the morning sickness should ease up by then, I pray. I hope you all have a great week. More pictures to come later.
