Emily is 8!!!!

 Well we celebrated Emily's 8th birthday party this past week, and I can't believe she is already 8!!!!!! I DO NOT want to think about what age she'll be when you double this number.  BUT Emily's favorite thing to do is craft and create, so what a better way to celebrate than with a craft and create party!  She designed her own cake (which was adorable).

 We had edible paintbrushes and rainbow fruit. And to drink we had "Creative Juices".  They also created their own pizzas too which was fun.

 I bought a pack of 12 aprons off Oriental Trading for $12 then added some ruffles and their initials on the front.  They painted their own picture frame, which we put a Bible verse in the center.  Then they made their own bandana purse by tying the edges together.  I think they all had a blast!  Next year I'd LOVE to have a bigger deck on the back, but I'm sure that won't happen.

 Can you tell in the above picture that Joseph had been having running in the back yard, his face turns beat red when he gets hot.  His hair was SOAKING wet too!

Back to School

 

 

 We started back to school on August 4, 2014 and are now finishing up our 7th week!!!!!!  We have had a fun and eventful start to school as it is Joseph's first year doing 4K preschool with us.  SO far he is doing a wonderful job.  Already writing his name good and learning his numbers and letters and how to count much better than he could!!!!! 

 We also started our homeschool group with a friend.  We meet on most Friday's, I teach art and she teaches Spanish.  We were doing hot air balloons this day.

 Joseph has had fun with learning the letters each and making a craft to go with each letter.  As you can see in the photos below he is quite proud of what he does.  AND you can see his name he wrote ALL BY HIMSELF here.  When he finished preschool at Northway Church in May I could NOT get him to write his name, maybe "Joe" but that was IT.  With being sick with morning sickness ALL summer I didn't get to work with him much, BUT just after a few weeks into school look at how well he is doing.  NOW just know not everyday is a walk in the park...actually most day he fusses at some point BUT with God's help and MUCH prayer he always comes around!

 Below are photos from Jarrell Plantation, our first field trip of the year.  Labor day weekend they have all kinds of things going on up there.  We got to watch them spin wool into yarn and fry up some cornbread in one of the original houses.  They even got to make some leather crafts.  It was a fun BUT HOT day.  The activities were on a Saturday but a field trip is still a field trip no matter what day it is on.
