Happy Friday

Well it's Friday yet again, and a crazy one at that. We are packing to leave for Gatlinburg tomorrow so it's just a little hectic around here. I went to the Dr. yesterday and everything looks good but he still wants to see me in 2 weeks to make sure everything is getting better. He was concerned that I'm not able to eat a lot and that I'm still getting nauseated a lot, but he doesn't think it's anything to worry about. He said it's probably because my stomach is not used to eating alot over 2 weeks and it just takes time to "stretch" it back out...although I really don't want to expand it once I've made it smaller!!! It'll get better with time.

Emily is doing better too, the antibiotic is working and I just pray kicks it for good. I'm able to do more with her now too so that helps as well. Keep us in your prayers as we travel, the rest of my family too. My brother is leaving this afternoon from Vicksburg, Ms and they'll stop somewhere tonight probably Birmingham. My poor daddy can't come on until Sunday or late tomorrow because he has to preach a funeral. Someone in his church passed away last night and he has that responsibility to do. Hope you all have a great 1st week of June next week. I also pray and hope we can have a quiet week in the mountains. Probably won't happen though if the events continue to occur as they have over the past 3 weeks HA HA. Anyway, thanks for all of your prayers lately they are greatly appreciated.

Pray for Emily

The Dr. called today and said that Emily definitely has a urinary tract infection. We carried her yesterday afternoon right before they closed (or before afterhours started) and also took her culture and they tested it and got back with us today that she did have blood in the urine and it was positive for infection. Poor little thing, she's been fussy all weekend and I just assumed it was because I can't hold her, but turns out she really is sick. She's a trooper though, you'd really never know she hurt or felt bad. That's how she is though. We started her antibiotic tonight so hopefully by Saturday she'll feel alot better. Pray for the rest of this week to be a little smoother, if that's possible.

I go to the Dr. to get my "battle wounds" checked out tomorrow. I'll update on that tomorrow, but otherwise I'm doing pretty good, a whole lot better than on Friday. Thanks for your prayers, and continue to pray that everything gets better. I'm still having trouble eating but hear that it can take a few weeks to actually be able to eat. I can only eat a little bit at a time and feel stuffed if I eat too much (or what I think is too much). Thank goodness for saltines and bread lately. Anyway hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week...in our last few days of May.

Good Tuesday morning to everyone...although it will be noon in a hour or so. Things seem to never slow down around our house lately. I am not sure what God is trying to teach me, but I really wish I would get the point soon, or He'd teach me faster because I'm tired. Yesterday was a good day though, and I got to walk around the block last night, yeah!!! I went again this morning too, so I know I'm down hill on recovery (I hope). I'm not overdoing it, and still can't lift or pick anything up heavy, like Emily. She on the other hand is not handling it so well. Last night and the night before she had screaming fits before bed. I actually had to rock her last night to get her calm and Glenn came and picked her up and put her in bed when I got her to sleep. That was at 10:30 last night, then she woke up screaming this morning at 5:00am. For those of you who know us, she NEVER does that. She sleeps till 8:00 every morning and has since she was 9 weeks old. I don't know what is going on with her but please pray for her to be at peace and comforted until I'm able to care for her.

Pray for my moma who is still trooping with us. She is a saint (that's not even a good enough word for it), and I can't thank her enough for all she's done these past 2 weeks. Pray that she won't get upset and discouraged. We are also getting ready to go on vacation this weekend so pray we all will just laugh at everything instead of getting at each others throats.

Thanks for your prayers and I hope you all have a great day in the Lord.

Pictures of Emily 20 months

Since we had the tornado hit 2 days after i took these i haven't had time to put them up. I ask for prayer for whoever reads this. I'm of course in pain, and well I can't take anything but Tylenol or Motrin (which I'm not really suppose to have b/c of my stomach). Just pray that I will get stronger every day and not hurt so much. Out patient surgery is definitely not as easy as everyone has been saying it is. To me it's worse because you are rushed home after having major surgery with not many instructions on what to expect. Thank goodness for Lynne Tucker who can help answer any questions we have.

Anyway enough of my gabbing here are the pictures. They are absolutely adorable.

Surgery is over

I had my surgery yesterday and am recovering now. Everything went well except after when I started waking up. I don't handle anesthesia to well and I got very sick. I know you women understand. Well I'm doing better and ask for your prayers for my recovery and especially for Emily, my moma and Glenn. She had been totally out of sorts with this and just screams mommy mommy sometimes when she is upset and sleepy. There's nothing I can do about it yet so just pray for peace and comfort for us all.

Thanks for your prayers and I hope you have a great weekend.

I'm going to have the best birthday tomorrow

Well tomorrow's my birthday and I'll be getting the best present ever...my gallbladder removed. I know for some they think that is aweful, but for me it is a blessing. I went to the surgeon this morning and after much confusion I finally got in with another Dr./surgeon and got him to schedule me for tomorrow. It's funny because the Dr. wasn't even suppose to be seeing patients today but he was in the office and I just asked if I could get in with him since the one I was suppose to see wasn't going to be in town next week because of vacation. God is awesome and works everything out in His timing that's for sure. Everything this week has been boom boom boom...Monday I got the test scheduled from my Dr. Tuesday I had the test run. Wednesday we got the results and scheduled to meet with a surgeon. Thursday, today I met with the surgeon and tomorrow I am scheduled to have the surgery. If you don't call that a God thing then I don't know what else to say. Normally it takes weeks to get all of this done.

Pray for everything to go smoothly tomorrow and for me to wake up quickly (I have trouble with pain med.'s and can't handle it good). Pray for my little Emily as she is SOOOO a mommy's girl lately. I won't be able to pick her up for a little while. Pray for Glenn and my moma as they care for her and try to keep her calm. Thanks for your prayers and I will hopefully be back in touch soon. Love to you all.

Good News...I guess

I found out this morning from my HIDA scan that my gallbladder isn't draining properly. My gastro. Dr. called with the report this morning (after much waiting and sinful worrying), and said that a normal gallbladder drains bile around 30 % and mine is draining at only 7%. I was so thankful when he told me because I have been having stomach problems since December and they have been progressively getting worse over the past few weeks. I have an appointment with a surgeon in the morning to see when we can schedule getting it out. Please pray that they can do it very quickly. We have family vacation planned for May 31st and first week of June, and then VBS that next week (for which I'm responsible for teaching 4th graders and making all decorations for the stage). I know these things seem petty but we have a trip planned with my parents and my brother and his family to the mountains and I really hope we can all still get together after all our family has been through this year so far.

Thanks for all your prayers so far and I'll keep you updated (for whoever reads this) on when my surgery is scheduled.

Side note, please pray for Glenn's nephew Kendall as he had an accident last night and ran into their trampoline while playing baseball and knocked out I believe 4 of his teeth...I think it knocked one out and they had to pull 3 others. It wasn't as bad as they first thought, and praise the Lord it was all baby teeth still. Pray he is not in pain and that he will heal soon!

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

HIDA Scan

Well I had a HIDA scan done today to test the function of my gallbladder. I don't know any results from it yet as they said they'd call tomorrow or Thursday (hopefully tomorrow). For those of you who don't know what a HIDA scan is it is a type of CT scan but they inject dye into your veins in two doses over the span of an hour and half. I had to lay almost completely still on my back underneath a scan machine for an hour as they watched the dye pass through the gallbladder. Anyway, I won't bore you anymore with those details, but will let you all know as soon as I know something. Please pray that this tests shows something about the pain I've been having. I actually got to eat a little chicken tonight, whoo hooo!!! It was the first meat I'd had since Thursday lunch. I've dropped a couple of pounds during this process (for that I'm not complaining) but I am ready to be able to eat again, at least more than chicken broth and toast.

Sorry to complain!!!! Anyway hope you're all well and having a great week so far. Hope to hear from you all soon. Sorry no pictures today!

Tornados and Trips to the ER

Most of you know that we had an F2 tornado last Sunday morning. We are safe and had only minimal damage to our house. Our Tahoe had a pine tree on the windsheild and hood, but is fixable. We are just thankful that we were safe and that not much more happened. My parents came over Sunday afternoon to help and he and Glenn cut trees all Monday...that is until daddy got injured from the chain saw. He's ok, and had to get 9 stitches, but had to of course stop the chainsaw use.

Well to add more drama to the story, Thursday night I started having another stomach attack (as I have been calling them). It got so bad and I was in so much pain Glenn had to take me to the ER. I literally felt like I was in childlabor. With a long wait at the ER they did blood work and a CT scan w/contrast, they said it was pancreatitis and was probably from gallstones. They really don't know what is going on but are doing more tests this week. I've been saying since December it's my gallbladder but no one will listen to me. I just want it removed, but have to have a test run to prove it needs removing. Please pray they will find out soon!!!

Anyway, I hope you all have a great rest of the weekend. I'll keep in touch soon.

It's FRIDAY!!!

Yeah! It's Friday, and I'm celebrating. Yeah, yeah I know you're probably thinking, "hey you don't work so why are you so excited?" I think no matter what you do Friday is always exciting to see roll around. Stay at home moms/housewives especially like it when Friday comes, or at least I do, because "daddy" will be at home for the next two days helping out with the little one. I hope everyone is doing good and has a wonderful weekend. It's Mother's Day weekend, and I'm kinda sad because I won't be with my mother, but I know it's all good because we'll be with them in the mountains in just 3 weeks!!!

Thinking about Mother's day somehow always makes me a little sad for all the women out there who do not have children (whether by choice or by God's plan). I just want to say thank you to my Aunt Becky (Emily's middle name Rebekah is from her), who has been like my second mom all my life. They never did have children so my brother and I were sorta of "there's" too. Becky is recovering from neck surgery so please keep her in your prayers as she recovers, and also pray for her through this Mother's Day. I miss getting to see them too, and so does Emily. She loves her Becky and Larry!!! Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and Mother's day to all mother's and all women who are like mothers to us.

Well I'm blogging today to vent a little bit. I confess that I am stressed today! I've been stressed for a while but it's catching up with me. God has truly called me to publish this book (and others in the future I believe), but I am stuck and don't know what to do right now. I have a publisher lined up to start the process with, but there are still some details that I don't understand and agree with. I know that God has it worked out, but I'm just waiting on the "burning bush" to tell me what to do. It costs around $2,000 to publish a book, and I have an asthma attack if we spend over $100 at Wal-mart, so this is really doing a number on me physically. I have always been a BIG money saver growing up and had a hard time spending it on "big" things. I know that God will provide all that we need to do this, but it's still hard.

My parents have and want to help me with the book, and I'm so grateful for that. With me staying at home now, we have to "Cut corners" and to add a $2,000 purchase right now wasn't on the plans when I quit my job. Anyway, I just need to quit complaining and just be thankful that I do have the money to do it. I just want to make sure I'm doing it with the right company. I have written a professor from seminary (who published several books from Zondervan and B&H) so I'm waiting to hear back from him, then I plan on taking the next step and sending Authorhouse my manuscript and illustrations. I will update you when I make that step.

Sorry to vent I just had to get this out. It's been affecting my relationship with Glenn, and my "duties" as a house-mom. God is bringing me out of this slump slowly, and for that I'm grateful. I appreciate all your prayers and I know you'll keep on praying. I'm counting down the days till we go to TN to the mountains and I get to see some friends for a little bit (Diana, Travis and Brayden) woo hoo!!!

Have a great Wednesday and please let me know if I can pray for any of you in any way!!! See this picture below of my little cheese!

Glad for a new week!

I hope you all had a great weekend and are excited about a new week. We had an extremely busy weekend and past week, so I'm glad for a new week and hope it will be a little more calm. We had Special children's day at Tabernacle Lake on Friday, and it was alot of fun. Emily enjoyed it, and getting to ride on a boat for the first time. I was a little nervous, but it was good. Saturday and Sunday were filled with preparations for our children's choir musical. I was in charge of a good of of the props and decorating, so my body is now tired from all of that. The musical was great last night and the kids did a great job. I know it won't be long before Emily is up on that stage singing and dancing around.

I pray you all have a great week, and that everything is going good with you. Our computer is acting up and won't let me blog much so maybe we can get a new computer soon!!! (yeah right...but this one is 8 and half years old!)

Sitting pretty on the couch!
