Halloween 2009, Emily's 4th Halloween

This is Emily's 4th Halloween, and she's only 3 years old, isn't that funny! Since she was born in Oct. she celebrated her first one when only 8 weeks old. She truly LOVED it this year though. Let me back track to last night first. Our adult Sunday school class had our pumpkin carving party last night, and we had fun there too. We had chili, and TONS of desserts! (As if the kids needed more sugar). After eating we all carved pumpkins, each family carved one and they were all so cute. After not getting into bed until 10:00 last night I wasn't sure how today would go, but Emily's been a pretty good sport.

We had to go buy candy for trick or treaters this morning, since we had NO candy in the house. Of course while there I had to buy a few things for new baby boy since we have NO boy clothes (gotta love Target). Then we were home for Emily to nap. Of course her nap was only an hour, because she was SO excited about the evenings events. First we went to our church for fall festival, where I had to face paint. Emily and I were matching 50's girls this year, in our hot pink poodle skirts. Glenn decided not to dress the part this year, so that's why there's not a family halloween picture. I have to say that Emily was the most beautiful little 50's girl I've ever seen.

After our church, we went to a neighbors church for their fall festival. We had hot dogs, soup, and cotton candy there, and did trunk or treat. After that, we came home just before dark and headed out for Emily to do a little trick or treating. Glenn and I swapped places so that we could be home for trick or treaters, and hand out candy and tracts. I told Emily that the tracts tell people about Jesus. When it was my turn to come back to the house and for Glenn to take her down another street she said, "So now it's your turn to stay at home and tell people about Jesus". SO cute!!!

When she was finished with her own trick or treating she was SO excited for the kids that came by to our house. We didn't have too many, but she kept watching out the door, and kept asking "When are some more kids going to come".

After a night FULL of, CANDY, SWEETS, and EXCITEMENT, she made it to bed not too late. I'm just so glad we gain an hour of sleep tonight, I just hope she takes advantage of it. I hope you've all had a great weekend, enjoy the pictures.

It's a BOY!!!

Well, technically it will be a boy in March, but we found out today that we're having a baby boy. Not to much shock to me, as I really figured it was, and was already calling it "he". Emily was a little disappointed, and I'm not sure it's really sunk in, but she'll be fine. I don't have the ultrasound pictures up on the computer yet and will try to get them soon (not that you can tell much from them but see the outline of the baby. The heart rate was 146, he's long and thin according to the lady and he's got some big feet! His head was on the smaller end so that's good. I've been feeling him move lots more, although he was sleeping alot during the ultrasound.

GA Mountains Carving the Pumpkin

Well here are pictures of the pumpkin carving last night. We got home today around 3:00 and have been all resting since. Emily took a 1 1/2 hour nap and is in bed already by 8:30 (the earliest in days). We had lots of fun carving the pumpkin, and all helped in the process. Emily didn't like to stick her hand the gooey stuff, but she did use a spoon to scoop it out. It turned out really cute!

Tomorrow is the BIG day...my 20 week Dr. appointment/ultrasound. We hopefully will find out if we are having a baby boy or baby girl. I think Emily is okay with either one, so hopefully she won't be too upset if it shows a boy. I just pray that everything is healthy and normal. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I'll definitely post tomorrow letting everyone what we find out.

GA Mountains Day Three

We went to the pumpkin patch this morning and had a blast. The wind was a little gusty, but nothing like last year. We froze out there last year, but it was just in the upper 50's this year. Of course we had to admire all the HUGE pumpkins, and make our pictures beside them, but we purchased ones that were smaller and more affordable. We plan on carving them tonight, so I can't wait to do that with her. I'll post pictures of the carving later.

After our pumpkin patch experience we headed to Dawsonville, GA to the outlet malls, which were also wonderful. They had a very nice playground right outside the Children's Place, and other stores, so it was very convient and fun for Emily, since no 3 year old like to go in and out of stores all day. We bought Emily some new P.J's since the arms were getting to short on her others...and some new long sleeve clothes. Enjoy the pictures.

GA Mountains Day Two

We went to church in a beautiful chapel this morning, filled with windows all around over looking the gorgeous fall trees. It was a wonderful service, and Emily went to the nursery, something she's never done at a church away from home. She wanted to go, and headed down the hall to find it by herself. After the wonderful worship service we then all headed to Amicalola Falls for lunch at the lodge. After stuffing ourselves too much we then headed to Hillcrest Farms, for some apple picking. Emily has been reading this book called, "Picking Apples and Pumpkins" lately and it was exactly like the book. We got to walk through the orchard and pick our own apples, then went on a wagon ride through the orchard. They had all sorts of activities there: pig races, clog dancing, a huge homemade slide, petting farm & tons of different foods to buy. Words can't describe all the fun we had. We're worn out now, and Emily's napping (yes at 5:20 pm). Glenn and I may get out and walk around the neighborhood & make some pictures. Enjoy these pictures and I'll post more later.

GA Mountains Day one

We made it to the GA mountains to stay with Glenn's family for a few days. The leaves are absolutely gorgeous up here!!! It was cloudy today, so I hope the sun is out tomorrow so we can see the colors in full glory!!! I took a good 45 minute hike this afternoon, and enjoyed just being in God's world with such beauty. I will say the hills were hard to climb up, but it's good for me. I hate at how "big" I am but know there's nothing I can do about it since I am pregnant. I have been exercising almost every day, so I guess I'm doing something right. I'm going to try to upload a few pictures we made today, but may not get many up. I hope you all have a great rest of the weekend.

Quick Trip to MS

We are back from our quick trip to MS. My Papaw is still in the hospital and probably will be dismissed to hospice in a few days. The pnemonia has gotten worse, and they think he possibly may have cancer that has spread to the lungs from the lympnodes. Just keep praying for his comfort and for God to bring him peace. He's been suffering for a long time, and gotten worse the past few months.

While in MS we did get to do a few "fun" things, go with Daddy to make sorghum molasses, go to the park, visit several of our favorite stores in Philadelphia (Williamsville, Jerome Tank). We were very tired after all the traveling, but we got a little rest today. Daddy drove over to ride with us last week, and left his truck here, so he goes back tomorrow. I'm SO thankful to have a daddy who'll do that for us. It was just good to come a for a few days, and to see Papaw, because you never know when God will bring him home with all this.

We head to the GA mountains with Glenn's family tomorrow or Saturday morning. This trip was already planned, so no we didn't plan to be travelers for 2 weeks :) I hope you're all well and I'll blog soon. OH my ultrasound/20 week Dr. appt. visit was rescheduled for next Wednesday, so we won't be finding out if baby Walker is a girl or a boy until next week.

Quick Update

I just wanted to do a quick blog update today, as moma called me this morning that they were taking my Papaw, her dad, to the hospital in Jackson. After a long wait in the ER, they found he has pnemonia in part of a lung, and his blood pressure is running very high, 207/90 something. They also thought he has a UTI but I haven't heard about that. They admitted him tonight and he's in a room at the Baptist Hospital in Jackson. Moma and Mamaw are staying the night with him in the room, so I pray that they get some rest. I'll try to update when I hear more, I just wanted to put this up to let everyone know. If you know my Papaw he's been hanging on for years and is not really coherent. He's still staying at home, and my mother is the primary care taker. I pray that after this trip to the hospital if he makes it out, they will see that he needs to go to a facility permanently.
