January Homeschooling 2015

We started back to school January 5th and actually took 2 weeks off at Christmas.  We had been schooling non stop since August 4th 2014.  My goal had been to get us to the 100th day of school by January 5th and we almost accomplished it.  Since we took that 2nd week off at Christmas we hit our 100th day on January 9th!  We are still schooling with me being almost 38 weeks pregnant and very uncomfortable but I wanted to share some pictures of what we've done this month.  Our unit has been on Africa and my goal was to finish this unit before Grace arrives and I think we will make it.  She is showing no signs of coming before February so we finish up this unit Friday.  It has been a fun unit and they have enjoyed all of the activities that have gone with it.
Joseph has enjoyed his preschool curriculum that we do after all of Emily's MFW curriculum first thing in the morning.

His little cheetah was drawn all by himself.  And the word "cheetah" was written by looking at the letters on another paper.  So far he has been tracing dotted lines but he is doing so well with his hand eye coordination.

Below is the elephant Joseph drew after watching me show them how to draw one step by step.  I think it is pretty amazing a 4 year old can follow instructions and draw such a great elephant.

We learned about rainbows for the letter R...and did some fun activities with it.

Only 2 more weeks!!!!

As you can tell Emily and Joseph are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their baby sister.  We never dreamed that we would be adding another Walker to our family but we are ALL excited and ready for her to get here.  I know life will change completely but we are all ready!

Two of my favorites!  Joseph was not really into making photos since he did them the other night but I had to get some with both of them since it could be any day she arrives.   I know that both of them had to be induced and were right around the due date but I've had a feeling since I was first pregnant that this one would be early....we will see.

The photo above shows both their personalities perfect.  Joseph the comedian trying to put on a show and Emily the giggly little excited girl!!!!!

Field Trip Fun Day

Saturday we took the kids up to Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary, or as Joseph calls it the zoo.  Since we've been learning about alot of these animals this past week during our unit on Africa and the grasslands we thought it would be perfect timing.  We also wanted to do something special with them before Baby Grace arrives.  After all the walking at the "zoo" it put me to having some regular contractions 1 every 5 minutes or less on Saturday evening.  However after drinking some water and eating they slowed up.  They have still been coming on stronger off and on and I go to the Dr. today (Monday afternoon) to see what's going on.  Hopefully we will meet her within the next 2 weeks.

Almost there....37 weeks with Baby Grace

January 15, 2015 We are almost ready to welcome baby Grace into the Walker family.  She's already apart of the family really and the kids can see her kick, hiccup and move and jiggle. They are excited to be able to see her!!!!!  At my Dr. visit this past Monday she was measuring a little ahead and according to the Dr. she's already a good sized baby around 6 lbs.  We will see when she's born just how big she is.  I'm thinking she will be between 6 1/2 and 7 1/2 pounds.  Glenn has said from the beginning that he thinks she will hit 8 lbs or more!  I sure hope not!!!!  BUT whenever she decides to arrive we just want a healthy baby!!!
Joseph was in a photographic mood so while his sister was bathing we had to capture these while he was willing.  We will attempt to capture some with both of them before she comes.

These are my favorite and it seems like yesterday Emily was a little younger than he is and she was hugging and kissing my belly waiting on HIS arrival!!!!
Below are a few pregnancy photos we have captured on camera.  Seeing this one from June really brings me back to the beginning which seems like yesterday too.  OH how small I look in that picture!!! BUT Then I felt HUGE!!!!  This was taken right after we found out there were twins.  End of June was when we found out we lost one.

Below was the 2nd week in August!  Taken at the Night of the Stars at church!
Below was the first part of September, around Emily's birthday, and at the party.
Above and below was taken in October.  After we had found out she was a she!  October we had fun with fall going to the pumpkin patch and to the GA mountains!

Above was taken after Thanksgiving in November!  And below was Christmas day!!! You can see a little difference in that belly. And the most recent are at the top January...almost there!!!!
