Fun at the Walker's

This past weekend the kids were doing some cheering for MSU!  Gotta love his little tank...that use to be Emily's.  AND we had a surprise this morning, Emily's tooth, her first to loose, was GONE.  Disappeared, and was in the bed!  I've been telling her it needed to be pulled or she was going to swallow it in the night, but she wouldn't let me...WELL it came out!!!!

Today we did a little science experiment outside, with baking soda and colored vinegar.  They dropped a few drops of each color at a time and watched it bubble.  I found the idea on Pinterest, and am SO glad!  They really enjoyed it.

Joseph pointing at a crow!  He called it a "co".  Since I've started him with his 2K curriculum he's been talking like crazy!!!  His favorite thing he told me today when I gave him something to drink and he said "I nt (don't) like it".  He can't say some words but you can make him out pretty good.  We're on the letter "c" this week, so we'll be doing things with cats, cows, caterpillars, carrots, colors, and MORE!!!!

Sorry for the lack of posts...

Well, I've been slacking on the personal family blog, and I apologize, but I have not been making pictures lately with schooling and painting, so the ones I have made are on my phone which I post directly to facebook, so I apologize.  I did however get some good photographs of my flowers!  I absolutely LOVE zinnias, and my new flower, the Mexican sunflower!  Our neighbor Monika gave me seeds last year and I just love them.

Our weekdays are FILLED with homeschooling and if you have seen any of my pictures from my phone you'll see we've been doing alot of fun things.  Joseph got a stick Friday and I can't tell you how funny he was.  Just since we've started school he's become this WHOLE new child.  He's got a personality like you would NOT believe.  He talks NON stop, and can crack you up so fast!!!  While out today a woman complimented him on how friendly and a "flirt" he was.  He is so funny...and smart too, I'm about to have to look up some more learning activities for him next week.  I'll try to make more pictures this week!  Check out my painting blog if you haven't seen the pictures of my first ever painting party this past week!!!  God is good and totally blessing this ministry/business!

Cakes, Cakes, Cakes

SO this past week, I've been doing some baking and decorating.  Last weekend I did a spider man cake for our neighbors little boy, and it turned out great.  After doing it, and posting and tagging pictures on facebook of it, friends of friends saw it, and wanted me to do a zebra cake for their grand-daughter.  SO it turned out well.  Then this weekend I got to do a butterfly cake for a little girl, missionaries kid, who is here while they are on furlough for 5 months.  It too turned out well.  Emily's is the next one I have "scheduled" so we'll see where this is going!

First Week of School 2012

We began school Monday and we were all ready no doubt.  I think they were both screaming, literally, for some structure!!!!!  SO I gave it to them!!!  I've got Joseph on some 2K curriculum and Emily has done VERY well this week with her 1st grade stuff!!!  I was concerned because we had not been doing much summer bridge activities, except for reading every day...but her handwriting has improved like crazy just over the summer!!! Can you tell they are both excited!!!

After the above pictures were taken I realized that I had not brought out Emily's last year 1st day of school picture...I'm going to make one like this every year so we can see how she changes...Well as we were outside making this picture, Joseph took it upon himself to LOCK US OUT!!!  He really did!!!  We could NOT get him to unlock it, but just as I was about to send Emily down to Ms. Donna's I heard him click the lock and it opened!!!  WHAT a first day huh!!!!

But all in all we've had a great first week!!!  I'm ready for the year, and hope to have TONS to teach him too!!!  He's already learned to count to 15, and can say his "ABC's" mostly!  Proud of my little smart boy!!! When he does start talking good, we're going to have our hands FULL!!!!!!
