Christmas Card Pictures

The following are a few pictures my moma caught as we attempted to make a good family picture for our Christmas card.

The one below I edited with Picnik. We didn't have any Christmas decorations out so I thought that it would be cute to do a collage like this, not for the card but just to play around with.
The photo above shows Emily "showing out". She wouldn't sit up and smile or do anything we asked. My mom, who took these great photos, caught the following in sequence. Isn't it perfect how it shows the true family portrait.




We hope and pray that as you all begin decorating your homes with Christmas trees, lights and garland, that you will remember the TRUE meaning of it all, Christ's birth. It is so easy to get wrapped up in the Christmas music of this world and forget about the "Silent Night" so to speak. Emily and I have surprised Glenn by putting up our Christmas tree today. She and I put it all up and decorated in an hour!!! We girls know how to do it! Have a wonderful week as the month of December begins!

Thanksgiving Days in the Country

We spent Thanksgiving day down at my Mamaw's in Newton. Emily got to play with her cousins and Joseph enjoyed watching them all run around. I hope you enjoy these pictures. I've been working on several Christmas projects so I haven't had much time to narrate. I've been working on this post all day off and on so that tells you how busy I've been. We head back to GA for a few weeks tomorrow, then will be heading back to MS for Christmas soon.






Joseph loves to "Boil them cabbage Down". He helped daddy play his home-made bass fiddle. He's definitely got some music in him too just like his sister. He claps his hands and rocks back and forth to every song.
Daddy had a little bit of blue cane left over he saved for us to make syrup with so I got to help "feed the mill". Let me tell you it's a "Dirty Job" for sure. As you stick the can in the mill the cane juice sprays everywhere. I had sugar sticky hair all day! These are just a few pictures of the fun we've been having. Glenn went hunting with some of our cousins and one of them, Robert, killed 2 hogs.


Emily playing her fiddle. I can't believe how well she can hold it, and it's not even her size. She says she wants to learn to play it and the guitar.

Day in the Country

We took Emily and Joseph down to the bottom for a few outdoor pictures in their overalls. Emily was so excited to find a pair at the Target like her brothers. I know it won't be long that she'll want to dress like him so I just gave in and bought them for her.
Joseph didn't like the wind blowing in his face, but he loved the sunshine. The leaves are so pretty down there and we just enjoyed being out side enjoying God's beauty.




Papaw also enjoyed showing Joseph the land too. I'm sure that one day Joseph will be running in this pasture ready to go fishing at the acre hole! He really enjoyed sitting on the tractor. He got the biggest smile when we sat him up there and he grabbed the steering wheel. He's definitely a boy!!!



On our way back I ended up carrying all of Glenn's stuff and pushing Joseph because Emily just couldn't walk another step she was SO tired. She had been down there with her daddy and Papaw for over an hour and half so I know she was tired. We have been enjoying our days in the country, just wish they could last longer than a week. But we still have this week to go. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving, Here it Comes

I'm a little late posting this, but Emily's Thanksgiving program was this past Wednesday. She was a little turkey and had so much fun singing about little Turkey's. She was one of the 4 that were front row and center. I'm not sure how they picked her, but most likely because she can really sing out! She's been practicing and singing her songs for over a month!!!

Joseph's 8 months old

I have to post these and give Joseph's monthly update. He turned 8 months old yesterday and he's growing like a weed. As you know he started crawling last month (really early for us), and he's pulling up on everything trying to cruise.
He loves being outdoors in God's world. We won't be able to have many more afternoons like this where he can just sit in the grass with no coat on.
He has started eating some new foods, butternut squash, pumpkin, and fresh blueberries and prunes (that I cook). Anything and everything goes into his mouth. He is a precious little boy and has a little temper too. If you take something from him he really wants he lets you know he's not happy. He's something else. We will be heading to MS tomorrow for Thanksgiving so everyone can see him (and Emily too of course). They haven't seen him since he was 4 months old so he's really changed since then.
