Week of Doctors

It seems like we spent the entire week in a Dr. or Dentist office. Last Friday, I took Joseph to the Dr. for double ear infection. They put him on antibiotics. Emily started running fever on Tuesday, and since Dr. Jason is off on Tuesday we scheduled her an appointment on Wed. morning bright and early at 9 am. (had to leave the house by 8:30 to get there). We take Emily and she has a sinus infection, and some staff infections (very small on her bottom--they are completely gone now with the help of antibiotics). He checked Joseph's ears while there and his left one was still bad even after 5 days of antibiotics. SO he switched his medicine.

Thursday morning was Emily's dentist, the dreaded day, BUT she was an angel and did super. Most likely because her baby brother was with her. That was a 9 am, again had to leave the house by 8:30, and I had an appointment with an orthopedic Dr. at 10am. Glenn came and got the kids, dropped her off at school and then took Joseph with him back to work.

At my Dr. appointment I have been meaning to make for 11 years now, I discovered that I have cervical strain caused from my fall in Alaska when I fell and broke my leg. I have really been irritating it lately and it's pretty rough. In your neck your vertabrae are usually slightly curved, mine right now is just straight up like a rod.

He said it's caused by muscle spasms originally caused by a serious fall or whiplash. I start physical therapy Monday, and i will do whatever exercises they say to get this under control. This problem has also contributed to my headaches and jaw problems, weird huh!!! The neck supports so much I never thought about, and how I stand, sit and move all effects the neck. I'll be learning alot about posture I know.

With Thursday under our belt, we had today, Friday to go. We had to be at the ENT for both Joseph and Emily's ear Dr. appointments at 8:30 am...so yes, we had to leave the house by 8:00am. I know for you working moms who haul your kids to day care everyday you are probably laughing, BUT for us who are not use to being somewhere by 9 am it's hard stuff. It's hard enough getting Emily to school at 10 am much less 8:30 am. Anyway, I digress. Joseph's ears look great after being on Septra antibiotic for just 2 1/2 days, and he wants to just monitor them before jumping into tubes. The same for Emily and her sinus infections. He put her on Nasonex to maybe help her not get so many. We've not gotten it filled and tried yet, but I know it will be screaming involved for that.

I wish I could say it was all over, BUT I have to be at therapy at 8:00 am Monday morning (yes that means I leave the house by 7:30), but I will be by myself no kids so that will not be as hard. I'll post more with pictures later, but we've not exactly had a week of photo shoots! Hope you have a great weekend, and stay well, it's a TON of sicknesses going around.

Olan Mills portraits

Here are a few pictures from Olan Mills we had done Monday. Joseph is still battling the ear infections, and as of today his left ear is still pretty bad. They switched his antibiotic today before he goes to the ENT on Friday. Dr. Jason thinks he'll be getting tubes soon. I hope so, to give him some relief. This post was published the other day by my sweet daughter who came in and posted it before I was finished. I didn't get online at all today so I didn't see it tonight. Enjoy these few pictures.

Sick Baby...Again

Well Joseph has a double ear infection, again. I took him this afternoon, honestly expecting him to say it's just teething (he is about to cut his top teeth), but it is an infection. We got him antibiotics, and hope he'll be feeling better soon. I have him an appointment at the ENT on next Friday so we'll see what he says, but I'm sure tubes will be happening soon.

Joseph's 10 Months Old

My little boy turned 10 months yesterday. I can hardly believe that it's been 10 months already. He is truly the sweetest baby I've ever seen. He's working on cutting some more teeth, I just can't tell if it's going to be the top ones or the two bottom on the side of the middle. He's really talking so much more than he has been. He says "da-da", "bye-bye", "nuh nuh", and even "mama". He's doing much better on his eating and LOVES to eat real food, like our gluten free oatmeal pancakes, and real bananas too.
He LOVES to clap his hands and when you sing "If you're happy and you know it", he claps SO much. When you say "lets go bye bye" he'll crawl to the door and wave his hands and say bye bye too.
He loves to pull and stand up to anything and everything that will hold him up.
His smile is like none other! Look at those 2 teeth shining...doesn't this just make you smile too!
We'll be celebrating his birthday before too long and I don't know what I'm going to do, because my little baby is growing up WAY too fast! Enjoy these pictures and have a wonderful week.

More Snow pictures

Well we still had the snow/ice Tuesday morning, so we took Joseph outside to see his snow baby (he was missing an eye though) We don't know what or who took it but I hope they enjoyed it. Joseph smiled a few times so i guess it wasn't as cold on him.



Glenn didn't have to be at work until 11 since our roads were still pretty icy, so Emily decided she'd help clean off the ice on daddy's car. They had alot of fun, so did I. It's not everyday that you get to scrap snow/ice off of your car. Come on, all you Southerns know that you really like to leave it on there as long as you can, so you can drive around and say "Hey I have snow on my car!!!". But since daddy had to drive to work we had to scrap off his windows.

By afternoon the sun decided to peak out, and I say peak because it didn't stay out very long, but while out it melted almost everything on the ground and of course all the ice in the trees. While Joseph was napping I took Emily back out to look around and these are a few pictures I took. The sky was a beautiful blue the few minutes the sun was out.

This picture below makes me laugh, it's almost as if you can hear snow/girl saying..."Help help, I'm melting".

All in all we enjoyed our snow/ice more than ever before. I'm sure we won't see any until next year or beyond, but when it comes again we will thank the Lord for it and play in it until every drop of it has melted. That is how I like snow, only for a few days and then it's gone. I could never live up north where you get it constantly!!! Hope you all are staying warm and well. Oh a tid bit of information I heard on the radio this morning, right now out of all 50 states every one of them have snow in some parts, except one state...that state is Florida. Sorry cousin Joe you just miss out on the snow.

Snow (Ice) 2011!!!!

Well we couldn't believe our eyes when we woke up this morning, but we saw white!!! Not much but still some white which is mostly still here and all ice! I think we got a little bit of snow but most of ours was sleet and ice. Emily, Glenn and I stayed out off and on all day. You can see from the pictures above and below both kids were curious about what was outside.
Joseph just couldn't keep himself away from the windows and every time one of us would take her out he would pitch the biggest fit. Of course he had his 2 times outside, as you'll see the pictures below, but it was much to cold to keep him out in it. Also it was still sleeting and raining on and off all day.
I had to throw this one in. He's showing off his skills of standing alone! He's getting so good at it, and it is scaring me because I'm not ready for him to walk yet. He's too little!

We couldn't get him to smile, probably because he was freezing to death. This baby cannot stand to get cold. He had so many clothes on I'm for sure he wasn't cold. His cheeks probably were but you can't cover those up.

Joseph has this look on his face like, "Take me inside now please". So we took him in after we all walked around the house checking everything out.

This is the red-neck version of sledding. Since we never get snow we don't own any skis or sleds, so what is there to use....the turtle top to Emily's sand box. We didn't really have enough to slide on, but we had fun with what we had. The neighbors I'm sure enjoyed watching us have a good time. Oh Joseph was taking a nap while we were out doing this...don't think we left him inside by himself.



Some other neighbors had their own red-neck fun...they were pulling each other by 4-wheeler on a knee board. You can tell by Emily's face below she wasn't so sure about it.

Our snow/ice girl. This was her first outfit, we changed it later after realizing she was almost dressed the same as last years snow girl...we couldn't do that now could we. This years was easier to build because it was wet. Last year the snow we got was so powdery and dry it wouldn't stay together well, and we had to add water to it.

You may not can see it but we felt sorry for Joseph not having a snowman of his own so we built him a snow baby to the left of the snow girl.

After a long cold day we all enjoyed a warm fire in the fireplace. The kids both love looking at it and staring at the flames. We had a very fun exciting day, and to me this was WAY better than Christmas morning!!! Now after eating some good warm chili and bar-be-que today, my body is slowly shutting down. I nodded to sleep while feeding Joseph tonight and was afraid I was going to drop him laying him down. I'm sure all my muscles will feel it in the morning, but hey, there's no regrets. Playing with your kids, and acting like a kid is the best feeling there is...for one day that is. Stay warm, and may these last few pictures warm you up inside for the night :)
