Ready to GO!!!

Well we're are excited and ready to head to my parents in MS tomorrow. Emily doesn't realize we're leaving tomorrow, she just knows we're getting ready to go on a trip. We got her a suitcase, finally, last night at Target and she absolutely loves it. It came with a back pack too, and she had to roll it all the way to the car, and then all night around the house. She looks like a grown up little girl ready for school. The plan is to leave tomorrow afternoon unless something changes. My daddy called me around lunch and said that they had taken my papaw to the ER. He said that they couldn't get him awake this morning and they don't know if he's had a stroke or what. He's already had one, but they are not sure. He's not been doing good for a long time, and it's been really hard on my Mamaw and moma who stays with them most of the time to care for him. Pray for God's grace in this situation. I'll update later on how he's doing. He's really close to me and I love them dearly. I'm just glad we were already planning to head that way.

Have a great Wednesday.

Peaceful Sunday afternoon

We are having a nice Sunday afternoon, filled with naps...Emily, myself and now Glenn. It's always nice to have time to rest. We have all had a rough week with being sick and all. Emily seems to be getting over it all, and so does Glenn. I still have the bad cough but that goes with it when you have asthma. I'm just glad I went and got medicine when I did. Hopefully this week will be less eventful. We are planning to leave Friday going to MS, for the Neshoba County Fair 2008. Glenn is SO excited because we haven't been for the whole week in 6 years (I think). Just to fill you in, the town where I am from has this huge fair every year but it's not like a fair you would think of...it's nickname is Mississippi's Giant Houseparty. It's about 100 acre area and in it are 700 cabins that people own and come and stay at during the week. They are shabby cabins either (well some are, but most not), but 2 and 3 story brightly painted cabins. It starts this Friday with the carnival that runs every day but they have all kinds of events during the week. They will have a rodeo, horse races, concerts, talent shows, TONS of FOOD, and much more. It's really a lot of fun, and since my parents have a cabin it makes it that much more fun. Anyway, I'll have to post more pictures later so you get the idea.

I hope you all have a great week. Maybe we'll stay out of the Dr.'s office this week...we can hope at least.

Is it Friday already?

I can't believe it's already Friday...where did the week go? I know for us it seems like it's been a sickly week. Glenn woke up Sunday with this aweful cold (the same stuff Emily's had for over a week), then I woke up Monday feeling aweful. It kept getting worse with me though, as it usually does, so I went to the Dr. on the corner and found out it's a sinus infection and throat infection too due to the drainage. So I got me an antibiotic and some good decongestant and I'm feeling alot better this morning. I'm already getting "chores" done. Emily however is still asleep, at 9:45 am. We even put her down earlier last night because she's been sleeping so late. I hope she's ok...is it ok for a 22 month old to sleep 13 hours at night??? And a 2 hour nap during the day? Please respond if you think I need to be worrying.

I hope you all have a great weekend. I'm sure we will be relaxing as much as possible...that or either doing as much as possible since we've been out of it for a week almost. Either way have a good time. OH I hear the princess waking just as I am about to publish this post.

Emily's tests today

Emily had her tests at the hospital this morning and she was such a big girl. It wasn't fun but she did very well. They did a VCUG and an ultrasound on her. Neither was fun, but the VCUG was the worst. They had to put a catheter in her and put her under the X ray and watch dye run through her bladder and kidney's. They found that she definitely has urinary reflux on one side, and he is studying it to make sure its not on both. We now know why she's been keeping the UTI's. Once she had that done, she got a little bear and some bubbles to keep. We then had to walk ALL the way to the other side of the hospital to do the ultrasound. Thankfully we had the toys to play with while we waited. The ultrasound went fine and from what I could tell everything looked good.

I hear little bit waking up from her nap...she didn't sleep as long as I thought. Thanks for your prayers!!! Hope you have a great Wednesday.

Good Monday

I hope you all had a great weekend. We had a slower one since Emily has been sick. We did however get to Smiley's flea market, and I was somewhat disappointed. It was huge, but we just didn't find anything there that we needed. It was fun going somewhere new for sure, but not somewhere I want to go every weekend. We got some good rain here this weekend, and praise the Lord for that. This is the cloud that came up I think Friday evening. With Glenn catching Emily's cold (or whatever), now I'm coming down with it this morning. I pray we'll all get over it soon. I was reading in Ephesians 6 this morning about the Armor of God, and I had to confess to God that I didn't even have the strength and energy to think about putting on Armor. I had to surrender and say to Him I needed His strength to put it on me for today. Isn't it true that when we are weak He is strong. I know why now, because when we are weak the enemy tries to attack us in different ways. Please keep us in your prayers this week, and pray Emily will not have a fever today.

Have a great Monday.

Have a good Weekend

I hope you all have a great weekend. We probably won't be doing much since Emily is still sick. I think she's getting over it soon b/c she started getting the rash last night. I guess it was Roseloea (spelling?) after all. I looked it up online last night and Dr. Jason was right!!! Emily sure does have a great doctor. Just keep praying that the fever goes away because she's been running one since Sunday. It was 99.7 last night before bed, so we gave her more Motrin. They say that the rash comes when the fever is breaking so maybe that was a good sign last night. She's still asleep this morning (at 8:30) poor thing.

Being at home all week makes me always want to do something on Saturday's. I really want to go to Smiley's flea market, and have ever since we moved here almost 4 years ago. That may be an option for us tomorrow since Emily won't really be in close contact with anyone. We had planned on going to Atlanta to the aquarium but that's out with her sick...maybe soon though. Glenn wants to go more than any of us. Take care and enjoy this cooler air this morning, it was 73 degrees here when I got up. Have a great weekend.

Sunflower Girl

Emily is feeling better today but is still running 100 fever. Dr. Jason wanted her to come back to see what is up before he left for vacation tomorrow. They did more blood work and her white count was really low again, so he said it's a flu like virus. He said he sees it alot during the summer in kids and that it will take her about 7 days to get over it. At least we're half way there since she came down with fever Sunday morning. You never know where they pick it up...I mean I'm the one who keeps Clorox wipes and Lysol spray with me everywhere...I guess you can't protect them completely all the time.

We made a few pictures this morning of some of the sunflowers before they die. Emily wasn't really in the mood for pictures, but it's her 22 month "birthday" and I always try to make pictures of her on the 9th of each month, I know it's crazy but I'll stop soon. Keep praying for her to get well. Next week she has to have tests run on Wednesday to check her kidneys and bladder. They'll insert a catheter and dye in her and watch it through the X-ray. After that she'll have a renal ultrasound. Pray for that day too, as I know she'll be screaming like crazy. Hope you have a great Wednesday.

Only by God's Grace

Well it's been another day, and a hard one at that. It's truly only by God's grace I've made it today. I woke up this morning "on the wrong side of bed"...for whatever reasons, it just happened. Emily woke up at 7:15 (never happens), and I wasn't ready to meet the needs of her when I wasn't even wanting to be up myself. Selfishness has been my main problem...and of course this can lead to conflict and words spoken that are unkind. The verse of scripture God had me study yesterday immediately came flooding back into my mind before I had even time to spend with Him this morning. Ephesians 4:29, "do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." This verse was a favorite one of mine while working at Mabel White, and I haven't really read it since then.

After struggling through the morning with an ill child (literally and figuratively) I finally had some time to spend with Jesus. I again studied this passage and some others in Ephesians 4. Isn't it awesome how God can bring you just the right verse you need when you need it most. The rest of this day has gotten much better and to that I give Glory to God for it was nothing I did for sure. I hope that this may encourage you if you ever have a bad day just like mine today. Verse 32 also helped me alot, "be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."

Update...Emily's fever has dropped now to only 99.8 ish, so hopefully she's getting over this thing fast. Keep praying for her though. Have a great Tuesday evening.

Monday morning at the Dr.'s office

Well little Emily woke this morning with 103 temp!!! I was very upset, and they got us in at 9am this morning. She wouldn't go to the potty to collect urine, they tried everything but ended up doing a catheter in her. She didn't like it but was a big girl and got over it pretty quick. They came back and said that her urine looked perfect...OKAY hello what's wrong then??? They're waiting to see if it cultures over night so we'll know more then. He did blood work to see if her white count was up...well she screamed at the prick more than the catheter. Then they came back and said it was perfect too!!!! Alright, so by then I was thinking PRAISE the LORD, because I prayed this morning that she would not have an infection only a viral thing. She's still got a good fever but it's gone down some with medicine. Pray that the culture doesn't grow, and that it's only a virus of some sort that will work out in a few days.

He is doing some tests on her bladder and kidney's since she's been so much trouble. I will know more on that soon. Poor little thing she breaks my heart because she just lays her head on you and says, "sleep sleep". She's never been this sick before. We don't know where she picked it up from, but we had such a busy weekend you never know.

Thanks for your prayers and I hope you all have a great Monday.

Fun 4th Weekend

We had a great time over this past weekend for the 4th of July. I hope and pray everyone reading this did too. We started the weekend with Glenn's parents coming over and his brother coming too. We made a trip down to Lane Peach packing on the 4th, during the morning and enjoyed watching the peaches getting ready for packing. Emily just loves seeing this and you can tell she is a real observant little girl on how things work. That afternoon we all rested up for our big cookout that we had at our house. Glenn was the grilling master, and did an excellent job on the food. After supper we enjoyed some cooler breezes outside and blew bubbles and enjoyed home-made ice cream. It was the absolute best ice cream I've had in a while!!! As it got dark we were all waiting for the fireworks show on Lake Tobesofkee. Emily didn't like the fact that we were still outside and it was getting dark. When the fireworks started she had a fit and screamed to come inside, so Marsha Ann came inside with her. It was a "Blast" literally.
On Saturday we all went blueberry picking. The berries were very hard to pick as they weren't that big, and the good ones were high up on the bushes. We picked a half a gallon for $5.00. Emily ate all that she picked...and more. We all got hot, but had fun.
On Sunday, today, we went up to near Sparta, GA for the Walker family reunion. We all burned up and ate too much food, and are now resting. Poor Emily woke up this morning with a 101 temp. I just gave her Motrin and we went on...it's still her bladder, because when I was letting her go to the potty before we left she started screaming when I was putting her diaper back on. To Dr. Jason's office we will go in the morning or sometime tomorrow. Please pray that they will figure out what's going on with her. She's so pitiful and I feel so terrible because I don't know what to do for her. She's been drinking cranberry juice and as much clear fluid as I can get her to, but I don't know. I'm just trusting God right now.

Have a great week, and rest after a busy weekend.

More Sunflowers

Well you are all going to get sick of my pictures of sunflowers, but I love them so I can't help myself. I had one out back, that I did plant, bloom this morning. It is SO beautiful. Of course it is facing the sun, as they all do. That is why I love sunflowers, and flowers in general...they follow the sun throughout the day for nourishment and growth. It's just how we are suppose to be everyday, following the Son (Jesus Christ) for our growth and nourishment. It's really cool when you think how nature has so many spiritual implications and points to The Creator to glorify Him. How cool huh.I hope you all have a great day, and holiday tomorrow. This is a picture of Emily in her Mississippi State cheerleading outfit yesterday. Enjoy!

Yeah Pictures!!!

I got my pictures onto the new laptop...so here's a few of my sunflowers that I have coming up out front. They are so cute. I know you probably think I'm crazy but I love flowers and especially ones that come up on their own. We check on them every morning to see how many new ones have bloomed.

Oh on a side note, Emily has developed a skin rash which I believe is solar dermatitis, that is from the antibiotic she's on for the UTI. She's not suppose to be in sunlight for prolonged periods of time, and well we were in the kiddie pool all afternoon. I was VERY upset when I saw it pop up under her neck, so please pray it goes away soon and that she will get completely healed of all infections soon. Enjoy the pictures.

Trip to the Mall

Well we made a trip this morning to the fabulous Macon Mall!!!! Oh yeah! Emily was needing more pj's that fit so we decided to head down there as soon as they opened. We found some great deals at Penny's and the Children's Place so if you're in need of children's clothes you need to head down there today.

We got a new computer yesterday, a Dell Inspiron laptop. It's PINK!!!! I'm so excited since our other one was almost 9 years old. I can't believe we kept it that long, although Glenn rebuilt it several times to keep it running. I am up to times now and can take this thing with me anywhere how cool. Well I haven't gotten my pictures uploaded yet or learned how to download new ones, so I won't have pictures today. Hope you all have a great day and are excited about the 4th on Friday. Glenn's parent's are coming over so we will have a great time. We are planning to grill on Friday. Hope you have a great week.
