Joseph's 1 year pictures

Since Joseph got tubes in his ears the Friday after his birthday we waiting on doing photos until he got over the procedure and I'm glad we did. He did SO good at his photo shoot, and we also went to a different photographer. We have been doing Olan Mills but the one here in Macon, is just not too good. The photographer doesn't change backgrounds and seems irritated if you ask her too. They did 4-5 backgrounds and 60 shots in just 20 minutes at this studio. Portrait Innovations will be our next stop for photos! If you notice the bump on his forehead in the pictures, it is a mosquito bite he got almost 2 months ago!!! We had to take him BACK to the Dr. today to get some prescription cream because it's inflamed and infected! Enjoy the pictures and let me know what you think!!!

Tubes & Tornadoes

I know you're thinking "tubes and tornadoes WHAT?" But Joseph got his tubes put in his ears on Friday. He did very well and didn't cry before at all, after however is another story. He woke up screaming and cried until we left then slept ALOT the rest of the day. He's still been pretty fussy, but when he's not he's in a great mood running and chasing Emily around. The below picture was made the afternoon after he got the tubes. It only took them 15 minute to do the whole procedure (that included the time to get him to sleep and and wake up).
Friday afternoon my neighbor came and asked if her boyfriend could till up my garden for me, and of course I said sure since I don't have a tiller. Well we didn't know that there was a family of baby rabbits in the middle of my garden. Two of the babies didn't make it, but one did survive. My neighbor put it in a box, and we later placed it in the middle of the garden and I covered the back and sides with pine straw and leaves. I am not sure if the moma has been coming back, but today when I went to check it it was asleep and when I touched the box it ran out by the fence, then later went back inside. We haven't touched or held it since wild baby rabbits are very sensitive. We're praying and hoping that the moma is coming at night to feed it. It looks only 2-3 weeks old, so I'm not sure what to do. They say that the mothers only feed 1-2 times a day and usually at night, so we'd never know. The baby does have the nest the mother made for them to cuddle in so we hope it'll make it!

Saturday, we had some bad weather. About 5:00 pm the tornado sirens went off, and the news radar was showing our neighborhood that there was a possible tornado in our area, SO with out previous experience with tornadoes we headed to the basement. A little bit later i ran back upstairs to grab my purse and I saw this..hail! We had some that was big as golf balls! I have never seen hail like this so I had to make pictures, and since I've been in a tornado before I knew it didn't feel like there was a tornado anywhere near by, so I figured I was safe.

Emily enjoyed holding it and had to make a picture holding it. We had the tornado sirens go off again at 8:00 pm but it was in the southern part of the county. We had an eventful weekend for sure.
Amongst all the other activities going on this weekend we had a dear sweet neighbor pass away on Saturday afternoon. Mr. Eldon battled cancer for almost 3 years, and now he's pain free "gardening" in heaven with the true gardner, Jesus. The picture below was taken last year over at their yard. They have the most beautiful yard I've ever seen, azaleas, blooming everywhere in the spring! I made Emily's pictures there last year. Please be in prayer for their family during the days and months and years ahead. He was VERY loved, and will be missed by MANY! His funeral is this week. I hope you all have a safe wonderful week!!!

More Cherry Blossom Pictures

We made it down to more Cherry Blossom Festivities today. On 3rd Street and Cherry St. they had the free carriage rides, free PET cherry ice cream, free Coke's, and free entertainment (which happened to be a good Christian band). The kids got to see the pink poodle "Blossom" for the first time. Joseph wasn't too sure what to think, but the dog really liked him, and got a little too close for my comfort. They even had her toe nails painted pink!


These Yoshino Cherry trees here in Macon, are just gorgeous, and unless you see them in person you can't grasp just how pretty they are. Like I said, they have no odor so you can stand underneath them and feel like you're under white snow clouds (without the nasty smell like the bradford pear trees). Emily posed for me one time, with her cheesy smile.

While we waited in line for the carriage rides, moma waited in line for the free ice cream. Since we couldn't take the stroller on the carriage they missed out on the ride.


All in all we enjoyed our little "free" activities. I even got to eat some ice cream, first in a year that I've had...I just hope that it doesn't give Joseph too much gas, he has some dairy intolerance issues. I'll try to post after he gets his tubes friday, but please keep us in your prayers as he cannot nurse first thing when he wakes up, and he is my baby who wants his breakfast as soon as he wakes up! Cherry Blossom Festival 2011

Well the 2011 Cherry Blossom festival started Friday and we have attended a couple of the events. These pictures are out of order and are actually from the last to the beginning, but oh well. Today we went downtown to Central City park to let Emily ride the rides and we had a picnic. The trees are in full bloom so it's perfect! You can see from the photo above just how beautiful these trees are. They have NO smell either (unlike the bradford pears) so you can get up close to them without sneezing!

Emily wanted her picture made in the pink train, go figure! Joseph however was wiped out and fell asleep by 2:00 just before we left. He had to go to the ENT this morning so he was super tired. He is getting tubes in his ears on Friday. They bumped it up for us, since he's still got a tremendous amount of fluid on both ears. The antibiotic he's on has cleared up the infection so that is good, but the fluid is still hanging around, SO praise the Lord that they changed it and are doing it this week, instead of waiting another almost 3 weeks.

One of Emily's favorite things is to get ice cream from the giant ice cream stand. You can see it in the back right. Even though we could've gotten free cherry ice cream downtown on Cherry St., she wanted it there, and I knew that we wouldn't be getting back out of the car after we got loaded up to go home.

We managed to get Emily to stop riding for a quick picture under one of the trees. She persuaded me to ride the carousel with her. Many of you know I can't ride too many rides, but I did fine and didn't get sick...but I didn't ride it but once!!! A person with vertigo doesn't exactly like to spin around alot!!!




Emily ran into a friend from school so she didn't have to ride alone. They were both so cute together, and I am really glad she had someone to ride with. They both loved the roller coaster the best.




Saturday night we went to the hot air balloon festival held at Macon State College. We were a little apprehensive about taking Joseph because it was going to be so late. The balloons didn't really light until near dark, and they didn't "glow" until it started getting dark. We did get to see them "glow" a few times, but we had to leave way before they got going good. Joseph loved running in the grass and dancing to the music. Emily enjoyed it just as much too and was putting on a show for everybody before we left.




We got a "family picture" a little too late because it had gotten dark on us so you can't really see the balloons, but the photo below shows you just how pretty they were. There were 12 hot air balloons, and I think we'll be attending this from now on (next time I'll make sure Emily and Joseph get late naps).! Hope you have a great week, I'll keep you posted on how Joseph's surgery goes Friday! Keep him in your prayers as he cannot eat or drink 2 hours before the surgery. He wakes up every morning 6-6:30 ready for his milk from his mommy! SO I'm not sure how he'll handle the ride down there. He can have juice but not after 2 hours before the surgery...so if he's set for 8:00 I can give him some at 6:00, but I'm really worried we'll be before then because they open and start surgeries at 6:30 down there and babies go first, so he'll be one of the first ones on the list.
