"Egg"stra Fun Weekend!!!!

I go ahead and apologize that these pictures are OUT of ORDER!!! But it's been a long day and I'm about to head to bed so I wasn't thinking when I uploaded them tonight. But we had a great Easter weekend this past weekend. It all started on Friday when Brandy came over to Philadelphia, and Glenn's parents came down as well. You'll see those pictures below, but the first pictures I have posted are from our family gathering at Newton at my Mamaw's house.
Glenn enjoyed his cake under the tree as we all awaited watching the tree cutting people to start working on the big limb that had to be removed. Emily and Joseph enjoyed playing at a safe distance on the deck.

Joseph swinging with me and his great Mamaw Costilow. He was really having alot of fun on Saturday and wore himself out!!!
He enjoyed playing with his great aunt Becky too!!! She kept him safe from Jackson the dog!

Above the man in the tree. Below Emily and Glenn watching the man in the tree. It took all afternoon to get that huge limb down but it got done.

Then we got to have our egg hunt. This was Joseph's first time to actually hunt eggs since he was only 3 weeks old at Easter last year. Big sister wasn't too sure about him gathering up "her" eggs (so she thought). Next year it won't be so easy for her. He didn't care about it this year but next year he won't want her snatching his eggs from him...especially the ones with candy in them.

These are all pictures from Good Friday. Papaw entertained them both in our old wagon while we waited for our "guests" to arrive.

They both enjoyed spending the day with Granmama and Grandaddy, and we got to enjoy some good food up at Peggy's for lunch. After lunch we all headed to Jerome Tanks to get some good fabric and other things (we probably didn't need).

Good Friday night we made pizzas with Brandy. Maybe we can start this as a tradition. Then after eating pizzas we got to work on dying our Easter eggs. Joseph just had to watch this year, but he enjoyed watching us dip those eggs into the pretty colors.

Our last project for Friday was to make and decorate our Lamb Cake. Emily had wanted me to make a bunny cake, but at last minute she decided to do a lamb cake. She said since the Easter bunny wasn't real, we should do a lamb cake since Jesus is the lamb of God (yes those were her words). Daddy had this pan that use to be Mamaw Alford's and he said she use to make this cake when they were kids every year at Easter. We had some minor problems with the little Lamb but I thought he turned out pretty cute!!! I'll post the rest of our Easter pictures soon. Until then stay safe in the severe weather.
