Last week: Earth Week

 All last week we looked at the Earth, since Earth day was on Sunday April 22.  The first part of the week we looked at the Earth's crust, then Tuesday Plant life, then the rest of the week was looking at Ocean life.  We did several activities, I only got a few photos of these.  Above Emily's painting a fish, she drew and cut out herself.  After it dried she glued it on black paper (b/c it was a fish that lives in the bottom of the ocean where it's dark) and she added green sea weed to it.  Below was our sensory bin for the week.  Sand with ocean animals and things.  They both enjoyed using the tweezers to pick the stuff up.  I couldn't believe that Joseph actually could do it.

 Of course he had a little help from his sister, but this is a great hand eye coordination/small muscle activity great for both ages.

 This little fish tank we found at the dollar store for just $1 of course.  Below was our ocean snack on Thursday.  Blue jello with creatures on the bottom (gummy worms, and bears).  Joseph didn't care for the jello but just wanted the worms.  We had a fun week looking at a lot of things about the Earth...of course the main focus was the Creation lesson from the Bible.  This week it's all about the Solar System so we'll see how many pictures I get of all the fun stuff we're learning.  Emily will be finishing up K5 this month (in May) and we're having a little graduation party for her early, this Saturday May 5, at 5:00pm.  Since my parents are coming into town for the children's choir musical on Sunday we decided to go ahead and do it early.  She'll still be schooling but we're just having a party early this month because May can become a very busy month!!!  I can't believe my little girl is already finishing Kindergarten!!!!
