We're Back!

I hope you all have had a great past couple of weeks. Emily and I are finally back home. We enjoyed our stay with Mamaw and Papaw very much. Emily definitely misses them, but she was starting to miss her daddy too. We had an adventurous time over the past few weeks, and I'll try to fit it all in if I can.
While there we got to see alot of family that we don't get to see often. We we able to spend several days with my grandparents, who absolutely loved having her at their house. They have a train track that runs behind there house so everytime one would come we had to run out back and watch it go by. (Don't worry it was down an embankment and Emily couldn't get close to it). All we would hear is her saying "choo choo".)

This one above is at my Mamaw and Papaw's house, she was waving at me.

Last Thursday we had a picnic at the park (with 30 mph winds), and enjoyed sliding and running around. An older kid however almost knocked Emily out cold coming down the slide too quick, but thanks to Mamaw's quick reflexes and my screaming she moved her out of the way.
On Friday, the day before we were to come home, my aunt Becky and uncle Larry came up to see us before we left. For you to see the drama in this story I'll start from the beginning.

We decided to go out to eat for lunch, which is a hard thing to do in their small town, but they have a deli place that is actually better than McAlister's believe it or not. Well we had a nice lunch and were making plans for the afternoon about some shops we wanted to go to and other things we wanted to do before coming back home. Well, as we ate lunch we noticed the wind was really starting to blow really hard. My brother called my moma right before we went to eat and said that they were having a tornado at his town (2 and half hours from us) and that the school's roof had been blown off partially.

Well you know us we think, "oh the storm won't be here until 3:00 so we have plenty of time to shop and get back home before it hits". Well, as we walked out of the deli (which is aside a gas station) we knew we probably weren't going to make it home before it hit. My dad decided to go ahead and fill up our vehicle with gas, and while he was doing so 70 + mph winds just hit us like a brick. Our car (the Tahoe) was shaking and debris was coming in everywhere. My poor dad was out in it, and as we tried to drive off he ran in the gas station. Well, within 5-10 minutes the hard winds stopped and we drove very fast back to my parents house. Trees were down everywhere and power was off everywhere too. All this of course caused Emily to panic and scream the whole way to the house, and an hour after we got there.

We were without power until 10:00 that night, and as we drove around later we saw that windows in buildings were blown out just less than a mile from where we were! God certainly protected us during the storm there's no doubt about it.

That is how we ended our trip to MS. It wasn't as I had hoped, but it sure taught me to never to be certain about anything. Things can change in a matter of seconds!!! But one thing we can rest on is our God never changes...He's the same yesterday, today and forever!!! Hallelujah!
Hope you have a great week. Sorry this blog is so long. Enjoy the pictures.
